A somewhat subdued episode compared to the more recent Gunpla TV episodes we’ve put out recently. We’ve got a couple cool kits to show off but more importantly, we’ve got the info for the November (and some […]
Just got started building the HG Barbatos 1 (Form 1 still looks better than all others). The Astaroth Origin also looks great! Can’t wait for the new kits to come out.
The frog gusion. i want dat hammer, it looks badass. Hyped for the revive strike freedom, do you think bandai will continue to make sword impulse revive? It wouldnt make sense to stop at force impulse and blast impulse
The last time I was… actually this is the first time I was ever this early.
HGCE Strike Freedom Revive doesn’t look like the Super Dragons separate or anything. Other than that, it looks SO much better than the original HG.
It would have been nice to have Fumina’s hands out on her Figurize Bust. She could be holding her GP Base and the Star Winning — and no, Ryan, she’s never worn a maid outfit in the show.
First it was the ‘Hi-Resolution’ Barbatos. Now it’s the ‘Full Mechanics.’ I wonder how it differs.
Shottie? Is Astaroth Origin secretly Sarge from ‘RvB?’Red Team’s well-represented in ‘IBO’ with the Grimgerde as well. Good luck getting that Graze back to Todd’s desk before he gets there, Syd.
Why not leave the panda guy and Mikazuki bust to the ladies? I’m sure hey would love to see a cute panda and a shirtless guy with a six-pack 😛
Also, ‘Fumina’ is just a name, but the kanji for her name reads out as ‘2-3-7′, which are the numbers she uses for all her kits’ model numbers in the anime.
Already pre ordered my Psycho Zaku. The price tag is heftier than I thought it would be. I was expecting a price point close to the Full Armor Thunderbolt Ver Ka. Thoughts?
I saw both kits while volunteering for an anime convention in the states. The two look real good as they still are in the Season One. The Banshee shall welcome the two kits in his collection.
What are your thoughts on a RG F91 and Berga Giros?
Thanks for the showing of the Psycho Gundam that box looks like size of a MG kit. I really want that but I am worried it might look a little off compared to the RG Zeta Gundam kits that have been released. Man I’m going to have to buy it anyway.
You can never go wrong with giant robots and shotguns, love the Astaroth Origin, even with the giant blocks hanging off its shoulders. Great episode guys.
First time commenting here so let me know if I’m doing it right… Just came across your channel/blog and thought I’d leave a comment for an entry in your latest video. I assume you guys didn’t see the new IBO stuff as you were filming? “Full Bake City” is officially the best Gundam name ever.
(SCSI is pronounced as skuz-ee)
Fumina was at the start of GBF-Try a competent female main character which is rare in a Gundam show and then Pixiv exploded with revealing artwork of her. As the show progressed her character faded and her breasts were growing at a ridiculous rate.
In the final episode the show returned to its more wacky roots and Minato Sakai, a rival who loves Fumina made the Super Fumina as a tribute to Fumina in a building contest. Judges be judges, Fumina be angry, gunpla is freedom and an all-out gunpla battle ends the season.
The Lupus design looks really interesting, might have to pick up the 1/100! Anyway I’ve l aways liked the Rebake, wouldn’t mind wining the HG for free 😀
A new episode of Gunpla TV is another portion of my life put to good use.
MG Psycho Zaku HYPE. There is no way I can afford this until the far, far future, and even if I had that cash, i’d spend it on the Sazabi Ver. Ka instead. Still, you get a LOT of stuff on this, and I always loved MS with tones of guns, because you can’t go wrong with more guns. The MS itself looks amazing, it’s detailed, has those frame covers, has all the weapons it could possibly need, and has tones of thrusters for space mobility. This has got to be one of my favorite MS ever, and i’m probably going to get both the HG and the MG Ver. Ka one day.
The HGCE Strike Freedom Revive was to be expected, same could be said with the lame gold. I don’t mind it on the Strike Freedom as much as on the Hyaku Shiki as it really doesn’t show much of it. Only the joints and some small areas, probably going to get the MG though. The Transient Glacier looks really cool. The deep sea green mixed with the clear dark violet is a really awesome looking combination, and instantly makes this kit a must buy for me. I expected the next RE/100 to be the Bawoo, as it’s a really respected MS and with the proportions, I knew this was it. I’m probably going to get this and the HG in MP colors, so i’m really looking forward to this release as well! The early type Guncannon is another must buy, I always loved the “cannon-type” MS, and this guy is no exception. The simple, realistic navy blue colorscheme is also a great touch, did I mention my favorite color was blue?
Clearly Bandai is spoiling their fans with the Fumina bust. I mean, multiple arms and a removable jacket plus…the real “bust”. I could already see the shelves being filled and emptied of this Figure-rise bust quickly. The new IBO kits have my attention for sure. The Geyreal takes the cake as my new favorite Graze, and maybe even my favorite IBO MS in general, very hyped for that one specifically.
Definitely getting the 1/100 Barbatos Lupus, the HG’s just miss too many color apps for me to deem satisfactory in my standards. Plus, it looks extremely detailed with all those lines, and since I love panel lines, this is going to be a great kit for me.
The Elf Sigma is no MS, but his design and colors call to me somewhat, maybe i’ll do a bash with a Gunpla using this guy one day. That head looks like it would go really well on an HG Sinanju.
Ever since I saw it, i’ve always been hyped for the Astaroth Origin. While the Astaroth already looked really cool, the origin takes the cake. The sharp, sinisger, angular design combined with that red colorscheme makes this kit look like an actual demon, which is very faithful to it’s name origin (ha). The weapons are also really awesome, a shotgun, sword, and a sledgehammer?! Yes please! It’s fight mode is also something really cool, there’s just so much this kit can do! Stickers seem like a bit of a pain, but it’s totally worth it. Hoping we get a 1/100 though, color accuracy is always a good thing.
the rebaked cake … or the frogman ….. hummmmm … who knows ?
ps : I got the parts from the Tod top gear giveaway …. and boy did my family teased me enough !! TOOOYS we paid 2 dollars for 2 sticks “the lance and the axe” and my grandmother thought that Japan was hiring me XD XD XD
thats i what i like about gundam ibo, its not like gundam build fighters try fun happy time, its dark and action packet its more realistic. ps i just cant wait for ibo s2
I loved the bawoo since the first time I saw it. It was before the “internet” on a Hobby Japan magazine and it was a scratchbuild model.
Too many years are passed to get an “high quality” version of it.
I don’t understand Bandai logic sometimes! The Bawoo is lots more beautiful than other kits but they wait years to do it in Bandai.
Some other mobil suit are ugly but they have several different versions…I don’t understand why.
You guys better not “Bust” your balls building all these kits for next week. Next week’s episode is probably going to have a 18+ rating because of that topless Mikazuki bust, haha, jk. I am still kind of on the fence on picking one up, so next episode will help me decide if it is worth it. Keep up the great work and I look forward to the next episode!
PS: If the RNG gods allow me to win anything, I want you guys to sign the kit box. And to make it interesting you have to use your non-dominant hand. With one of those big fat kindergarten Sharpies.
Man having a psycho gundam would be great, for a minute i thought you were giving it away! That would be a dream come true 🙂 Great episode as always guys.
Kinda glad I didn’t go for the Super Fumina competition, because Ryan keeps fiddling and breaking kits XD I saw those parts breaking off! Also I ordered one recently, so getting another one would have been daft.
Hoping for the Rebake (despite the stupid name) if I win, because the normal Gusion just looks daft. Well, unless it’s that one guy who turned theirs into a Blastoise, that was kinda awesome.
Looking forward to the GNT-0000 00 Shia Qan[T] (because Shia’s kits are kinda awesome). Tempted to modify it, but kinda afraid of possibly breaking it (I’m not as clumsy as Ryan, but still…).
Great show guys can’t wait till i get able to build some gunpla and make my own customs again. And i dont understand you people would buy a bust of a anime character it’s just wierd
Wahooo! Can’t wait for season 2,I made the crazy decision to start watching Season 1 while visiting Tokyo recently and came back with a rather crazy PsychoGundam sized addiction to Gunpla! Thank God I found you guys though, I’ve brought about 15 kits so far and am not stoping yet!
here’s hoping we get to see that shotgun in action, if they write Astaroth into season 2
Slight correction. Before the previous haitus, the “Figure-Rise” name was used on both “MG” and a HG equivalent, called “Figure-Rise 6”. They are 6 inch tall models, and includes franchise such as Tiger and Bunny, Accel World and Kamen Rider. Unfortunately the line ended before it even got the recognition it deserves.
Since then the Figure-Rise seems to have evolved into the “Sprukits” of Bandai US, focusing on Halo and DC superheroes, and venture again into both “MG” (called level 3) and “HG” (Level 2) scale, which again seems to have failed before it took off as this year there is no new info regarding releases.
Looking at what is available now under the “Figure-Rise Standard” flag, it seems the future might be brighter. Using the Dragonball franchise should bring this line the attention it deserves. Which I hope will means the line will last longer, Because I want more Active Raid gears be released as kits!
Ryan and Syd drool over the two new massive Zoid kits and Todd gets his chance to talk about the two High Grade kits he wasn’t able to share. And don’t forget that we have a Parts Campaign happening!
Awesome show. Looking to buy some Keroro Gunso model kits from HLJ hopefully pretty soon. Also has anyone had experience building the HGUC Psycho Gundam kit. I wonder how it would look next tot he revive line of gunpla.
Nice review of the build fighters Gyanpla! I enjoyed it and might be thinking of getting one. The figurise kit is actually Elf Sigma according to greek lettering.
Hope to get this Fumina as mine has one of her eye lens missing 🙁
I just went to see Final Fantasy XV Kingsglaive in the theatre on Sunday. It was a pretty good movie, incredible animation, decent story, translation from a Japanese script to English did leave a bit to be desired but if you haven’t seen it I’d say you might as well.
That Gyancelot is awesome, could use a few licks of paint to really bring out the gold on it though. Can’t wait to purchase the re-release of Sentinel’s Black Getter off of your website tomorrow, haven’t been this excited for a figure in forever!
ps: shameless plug to go watch Getter Robo Armageddon. It’s awesome.
again I know it’s cheaper to give away kits that you’ve built on the show but I know that at least I personally enjoy the build as much as the kit itself.
P.S. that doesn’t mean I don’t want the kits(it just takes away from the fun)
I been thinking about getting that ZZII, but I’m not sure if I should get it in HLJ or go to the anime store that frequent to buy it, its been so long since I’ve gone for a visit.
My guess is that Final Fantasy 15 is delayed for a lauch release with the X1 Scorpio and/or the PS4 Neo, it would be a great system seller.
Next month you can witness the sheer terror of the mg PSYCHO zaku, it would tottally take 2 or more livestreams to build that monstrosity.
I’m new here. I have been keeping tracks of Syd’s WIP and reviews for some time. Do Ryan and Todd have their own blogs? Oh and Fumina please. Thanks Ryan and Syd (and random generator lol).
I kinda prefer that ganz also, but i’m not really the biggest ganz man myself, much preferred that second kit you showed, looks more like kind of mecha.
Astaroth Origin does look interesting. I MIGHT get one, if reviews are positive.
Funny Todd should mention high heels in Build Fighters kits: I believe the Zetwo has the highest heels at this point. Nice job, Sakai (also, Bandai, why aren’t we getting a Super Fumina, Titans ver? Don’t think anyone would want the bunny ears? Guess again)!
The Super Fumina wasn’t runner up, it was disqualified ’cause Sakai didn’t get Fumina’s permission to build it. I wouldn’t have given him permission to make that emaciated torso piece either. Yuuma won with the Lightning Zeta Gundam. Including the Scramble and Tryon 3, Build Fighters has lots of Zeta-based suits. When are they going to introduce the Transient Glacier?
haha would be funny to win that super fumina, anyways what do you guys think about the new season of iron blooded orphans season 2? plus do you think will we get a HG Z3 in the future?
Another episode of Gunpla TV brings me more joy for the week!
The Iron Kong PK looks awesome, the dakka and the magenta colorscheme looks really nice. However, I can’t take the name seriously, the reason being that “PK” is actually a swear word where I live, so I just refer to this as the Iron Kong “Pink”.
Again, the new HGBF kits all look awesome! I’m definitely going to eventually get them all of them besides for the Beargguy P. The ZZII is the one I like the most though, it’s colors, bulk, size, firepower and transformation just sells me out in every way.
The Astaroth Origin looks AWESOME. I love red suits, and the Astaroth Origin isn’t just red, but is menacing at the same time. It looks strong, sturdy and a bit bulky, yet looks quite agile, giving this guy a very nice and balanced look. He looks absolutely awesome, has nice gimmicks/weapons, i’m definitely getting this guy one day and nobody can change my mind.
The Gyancelot looks great! I love the weapon with it’s Zeon symbol, and while I already love the Gyan, the Gyancelot’s new parts make this thing look a lot more knight-ish and regal, I dig it. The foil stickers don’t look good, but were to be expected honestly. I have the Gyan Revive in my backlog, but from what I know, it’s a very, very good kit, so i’m getting the Gyancelot as well.
The ZZII is actually pronounced (Double Zetsu), and like I said, I LOVE THIS GUY. He looks sharp and has some really nice bulk that don’t make the kit look fat in any way. His colors and predominant blue colorscheme calls to me, I do like the classic Gundam colors, but I especially love this shade of blue. Did I mention that blue is my favorite color? This kit has a ton of blue and I dig it. He’s got some nice looking guns, and I love giant guns! He also transforms, and I really dig transforming kits, so this thing is easily one of my favorite build fighters kits for sure.
The more I order from you guys, the more I realize that your like the furniture stores, there is always a deal/promotion going on, the deals, they never end!
Great show guys, can’t wait to see the Active Raid kit review next episode but speaking of the Super Fumina, I have just placed my preorder for the P-Bandai version, I couldn’t resist those cute ears, lol ^_^
HG build parts for the win! When you buy that RG don’t forget to add some solid HGs, like I did 😉 still don’t know what a Super Fumina is but its Gundam and strange so I hope to win lol
I had to pause the video for a moment during the MR2 and Lamborgini segment, because I acutally thought I was watching Top Gear. Todd, your secret is out; you are the Stig! In addtion, have you guys ever watched Home Improvement? Everytime I hear Todd Time it reminds me of Tool Time from the show.
As usual keep up the awesome work and I look forward to next week’s episode!
Aw i just bought a super fumina. Regardless, the gyancelot looks as great as ever, and it has the classic colors as opposed to the revive’s color scheme.
You guys should do fancy jump-cut transitions or something where Todd flies off his chair and Ryan pops out from under the table or something; that’d be fun.
All call him, the Gunplabuild-Bot, Tod not. But I call Tod, God and I already placed 2 Gyancelots and one Gyan rewive in my private warehouse. I am going to turn them into shiny knights. Always looked for a chance to use these nailpolish chromepowder. And of corse..heads will be swapped.
As for the sigma elf.. I placed it in my warehouse too, but it depents on Tods review.. 😀
Thanks for the show!
The ZZII is the second Build Fighters kit to be based on the ZZ; the first was the Tryon 3. I recently discovered that the Tryon 3 was originally scratch-built by a modeler in Hobby Japan magazine, and was originally called the ZZZ.
The latest Master Grade, the Full Armor Gundam Ver Ka. (Thunderbolt Ver.), is amazing but can be a little tricky. Syd shows you some things to pay attention to when it comes to assembling this beast as well as […]
PARTS CAMPAIGN!!!!!!! Sounds like a perfect time to buy my first RG kit, especially since I just finished my first MG which was the Wing Proto Zero. Thank you HLJ!
cant resist that god gundam.. love it, japan is hosting 2020 Olympics, i wonder what would be their mascot?.. a gundam… what would be their freebie award along with the medal?… a gundam… , damn!!! i should start training now.. to get that Olympic edition gundam… 🙂
The whole HLJ team will be participating in the 2020 Olympics. Syd trains by running around and running down people when Snorlax appears. They stopped gassing up the trucks and they had Todd carry the boxes in and out of the warehouse. Olympics came. They have a Gundam building competition. To Syd’s and Todd’s horror, their fingers have become too thick to hold nippers. Despair.
I have a feeling they will do the same to the RG Build Strike like it’s MG version. They’ll make the universal booster and had parts so you can turn it into the Star Build Strike.
That 2nd head from the Northern Pod, if you put it in the HG Gundam X and HG Air Masters it will look like FX-9900-GB GX-Bit and FW-9800-GB GW-Bit, Plus Im sure Bandai will release RG Star Build parts but as “P-Bandai”
It’s cool to see how the Full Armor Gundam Ver Ka. (Thunderbolt Ver.) was built. Nice review of the Hyaku Shiki. Any insider info on possible releases later this year?
Yet another fantastic episode! Thank you for being awesome guys! Also, thank you Syd, your tips about how to handle those vinyl frame covers, made me feel 10x better about trying to tackle my MG FA Gundam! And lastly, who wouldn’t want to see the collection of balls?!
Ironic that Sunrise makes us think the Northern Pod is designed specifically for the Force Impulse, and yet Bandai designs it so it doesn’t work 100%. But we’ve seen that before with the Super Fumina and the Powered Arms Powereder add-on, specifically with the two Gatling gun mountings, which don’t work without cutting off the pegs.
Thanks in advance for reading and responding to my comment for the Carta’s Graze draw, Syd. It’ll be nice to see if someone can get the RG Sinanju right on the first build, since I’m sure most of can only afford one (what with all the other kits we’ll want to get). It’d sure be sweet to get that Kimaris to carry Carta.
Lovely episode guys, the ‘Ball’ jokes especially appeal to my goofball (ha) sense of humour. The new IBO kits look amazing, especially the Lupus and the new Graze variant (well, the green thing with the red eye that doesn’t have a proper name yet).
So, to reproduce the Team St Odessa we need 1 Gyancelot, 2 Force Impulse and 2 Northern Pods.
And for the HGUC Hyaku Shiki the puke gold parts definitely need to be painted.
Actually, you just need one northern pod. If you paid attention, it separates into twos of everything so each Impulse can get their weapons and heads. It even does that in the anime, the Impulses combine their parts to form the pod.
Woo woo woo! Time to drop my NG Lunamaria Zaku and start watching another episode of Gunpla TV!
The new HGBF releases have all got me hyped! (Already got the Panda’gguy in the backlog!) The Barbatos DX is a cool release but there are a HUGE amount of stickers for it, and I thought the Ex-Standard’s was bad…this is that combined with even more… >_<
The new Draken III looks absolutely BEAST. I cannot wait to own it once I get money because that thing looks awesome, and those decals, while painful to look at, are all to be expected. Super expensive though, so I won't have one in a long time… 🙁
I always loved the Hyaku Shiki, the sleek design, the awesome pilot (CHAR!!!), and the shiny gold. I have the MG 2.0 in my backlog, which I will get to work on once I get some good nippers, I expected the Zeta Revive for the 200th kit but I understand why the Hyaku Shiki got chosen instead. But once I saw it, I was super disappointed it wasn't coated, it certainly helps for painting, but it feels the the Hyaku Shiki is one of those MS that is meant to be covered in shiny reflective gold. Oh well. I feel like it's going to be P-Bandai, so no thanks. I already have the 2.0, so it's not that much of a biggie to me, but if I do ever get the revive, i'm painting it with custom colors for sure.
The Northern pod is cool, but it certainly needs paint. If you do paint it though, painting it to get those impulses in the show would be quite cool. It's nice to know that you can build the FA Gundam without the frame covers, however i'm doing it anyway, as it just looks better and more unique. Plus, with your helpful tips, it should be fine now!
I think the kits at the Gunpla Expo were Entry Grade kits, which were a grade of kit made in china, about the quality of a First Grade or an Advance Grade but at the same time they're worse in color separation.
The 1/100 Kimaris is cool, I wouldn't mind having it although since I have the HG, I hope someone who doesn't have a Kimaris can get it. The Kimaris is a really cool suit, and it's love really deserves to spread.
oh and by the way, the RG sinanju has the exact opposite problem on the waist as the MG, on the MG the waist was to tight, in mine the waist si very, very loose, it cant hold the weight of the torso, it is so loose that if i grab the kit by the torso the legs and the waist will fall off, the hole kit has this problem, pieces fall off if you stare at it, but the waist and the head are terrible, plus, the stickers… I hate stickers… love the RG line but the stickers look terrible with time because dust accumulate on the edges.
Right now I’m building an SD Guntank, and my cat just decided that the sandpaper next to me was looking pretty comfy. I had to pull the sandpaper out from under her.
Man I can’t wait to see the psycho zaku finished and displayed in the next hobby show/expo. Also was kinda disappointed with the new build fighters ova, too much showing off and fanservice. No real new designs either
i have always loved the hyaku shiki but I’m gonna have to hold out for now. Don’t get me wrong it’s a great kit and I really want it but since I’m young I don’t have much money I’m just gonna buy the high grades I care about from cheapest to most expensive(I’ll get the more expensive ones once I get a job). Also works with the parts campaign because for every modern high grade I could buy I could buy 2 early high grades and get to parts sets.
Dayum just realized after typing it that this is a whopper of a comment.
Really tempted with the full armour. Had my doubts about the joints but syd’s pointers have comvinced me I need to get me a big beasty. Might wait for the psycho zaku, any news when the kit will be released? Does Syd think theres any way to paint or get different colour joint covers??? I know We cant get an mg kshatriya but sure the gundam has 4 sheilds paint it green and squint let you imagination do the rest…….
Awesome things to do for the force impulse, don’t like the “gold” color of the revive hyaku shiki, the fa gundam is too complicated for me (i think), and i hooe i can win that kimaris trooper..
Before leaving for our Obon holidays, Syd was determined to show everyone the RG Sinanju as soon as possible. Todd accompanies him on the show to talk about the new releases and the SD EX standard line of […]
The RG Sinanju looks incredible, I really can’t wait to pick one up from you guys! I’ve been spying a lot of the AGE high-grade kits recently, and eagerly await my next paycheck so I can grab a HG G-Bouncer. Those IBO kits are gorgeous though, so let’s see if I’m a lucky man!
The RG Sinanju looks really really awesome. Kind of wish the MG has the same thing done with the gold. I’ve heard that the RG can be kind of touchy though. Thoughts?
I am waiting to mash the pre-order button for the new IBO kit that has the 2 cannons on its shoulders, too bad it doesn’t have a name yet. So thanks for the coverage of that.
Not another build fighters kit… hee hee… they give you an RG one just to rub it in 😉
It doesn’t look bad at all, but I think I will pass on this RG. Gives me some time to chip at my back log. GFT HG Sazabi, BF Hi Nu Vrabe (I know I know), HG IBO Kamaris, RG Wing Zero, RG Strike Freedom with base, RG 00, RG Astray, MG Hi-Nu ver. Ka, PG Unicorn and PG Banshee. Plus, waiting for that shipment from you with the RG Sinanju. All thanks to you. I probably forgot some. Maybe a reconguista kit.
I’ve been waiting for this episode, the RG Sinanju has arrived, yet i’ve already built it. The new build fighters kits are cool, and i’ve bought the Pandagguy as my first Petit’gguy. The Gyancelot looks awesome, so since i’m a Gyan fan, I need to go and “gyan” myself one. The ZZII is also an absolutely beautiful looking beast that attracts me the same way the original ZII did, so i’m definitely getting that as well. The Hyaku Shiki revive is a neat edition, although I already have the MG 2.0. The lame gold is a bit of a disappointment though, i’m definitely giving this guy a custom colorscheme if I do decide to get it.
A lot of people disike the Ex-Standard line, me included. But people say that the idea was horrible from the get go and that it shouldn’t exist, I on the contrary disagree with this. The idea was a great one, have SD kits with sleeker propotions, compatibility with HG kits, and sport better articulation. But it wasn’t executed well. The kits have numerous holes in a lot of the parts and a lot of color come from extreme sticker use. They are only really presentable from the front, showing the back just reveals the holes and lack of color. I would love the line more if the sticker problem was fixed though, i’m excited to see what we get next in the line, especially an Ex-Standard Ball.
The RG Sinanju is a mixed bag for me. He looks awesome OOB and looks better than all other Sinanju’s, especially with that mekki gold. He also has a lot of cool gimmicks and opening hatches like the Sazabi Ver. Ka, even the MG didn’t have any of that. However, it’s got a few issues stability wise. A lot of parts fall off easily, and it’s a bit hard to pose. It’s not the most loose kit, but it’s not sturdy by any means as well. The shoulder articulation is also quite limited, so my thoughts on the kit are really mixed. The next RG, the Build Strike though, highly interests me, and i’ll probably get it.
I would like to see more suits that aren’t Gundams. Maybe like a Gouf, GM Custom, or even a Ball. Although, what I want the most is an RG Altron Gundam. After that “now planning” poster that had all 5 EW Gundams, I wanted the Altron the most since the MG was a P-Bandai, and the old kits are frankly quite bad.
I’d love a 1/100 Graze Ein, I know someone made one to display in a diorama alongside with the P-Bandai Hi-Res Barbatos 6th form, I just hope we see one. 😛
If we’re getting an RG Build Strike because it’s based off of the RG Aile Strike…will we get the RG Build Gundam MK-II because it’s based off of the RG MK-II from Build Fighters??
Could Todd try out some Builders Parts hands with the hyaku shiki? I really don’t like the standard hands it comes with and would probably look great with some real proper hands and not lego style hands
Honestly I’m disappointed with the RG Sinanju. As nice as it looks, it could be SO MUCH BETTER if they created a unique RG frame for it rather than reusing the Mk-II RG frame.
As it is it almost feels like the HGUC Sinanju’s armour was grafted onto an RG frame when they were designing it.
With that said though I may graft the HGUC Unicorn onto an RG frame at some point… it’s no Ball Gundam but it would be cool.
The RG Sinanju looks amazing but I still have my MG Sinanju to build. I wonder if the MG version can be modified to incorporate the new RG gimmicks easily.
I am really excited about the MG Psycho Zaku as I haven’t built many Zakus and I look forward to seeing the new 1/100 IBO kits.
Will you guys be building and reviewing the Dragon Ball figurised kits? I would love to see how they compare to the 2009 MG Gokou.
Good show as usual :), i´ve just recieved the twins cannon ill make up and send a picture with the big brother guntank early type. Hope this graze join to the party, thanks for your work
This will be a Iron Blooded Orphans lottery! I like the idea! I have my Barbatos waiting in your warehouse too! It’s strange that I like so much a Gundam series that it’s not in the UC! But if something is good is good! no matter the “Universe” I think.
Crossing my fingers again to win.
Not a fan of the SD EX kits, didn’t know they were hollow. So I’m completely out now, so thanks for that insight! 😀
In reg. to the RG.
It does look super amazing, but sadly I’ve heard from multiple people it’s hard to pose without parts falling off and generally some other issues. So I’ll probably skip this one.
Good episode as always and look forward to seeing this Thunderbolt tutorial since I expect to other the MG very soon 🙂
No Gundam collection is complete without at least one Ball either model or figure. Everyone needs at least one. I would like to see some of The Todd’s custom Balls, but please Todd keep it PG kids are watching. lol
Happy gunpla games and MAY THE ODDS BE IN YOUR FAVOR !!
😀
That Sinanju though the most creative gunpla from bandai and how they used the original RG frame is genius !!!
Bandai has made an interesting choice with picking the Build Strike Full Package as the next RG release. I find it a welcome edition to the line as it is better than having nothing. I was really hoping for a RG Nu Gundam, Sazabi or, if Bandai has the technology, a ZZ Gundam. Speaking of the RG Sinanju, I should be getting it today, building it and sticking it in my Neo Zeong; just in time for my birthday tomorrow!
I want to thank Syd, Ryan, Todd and the hard workers at HLJ for the awesome service. Continue to pump out amazing content on HobbyLink TV and the quality service with HLJ!
I heard that on the rg senanju there is a poly cap that connect the waist to the chest is very wabely and un-stable, and i also heard that the sinanju can’t hold his gun/rifle facing forward because of the weight and the shoulder poly cap. Is that true??? BTW I didn’t buy the kit yet because of those problems.
Well since Syd approves I guess we can safely expect another 20 Shinanju related episodes in the near future. All jokes aside that is one sick looking kit.
I’d like to see an RG Amazing Red Warrior. It shouldn’t be nearly as fiddly as the Sinanju. I think we need notes on how to maximize that build. I wonder why Bandai chose the Full Package over the Star Build for the next RG, though.
Was like “LOL” when you were telling Todd that you don’t think the next RG was gonna be the Build Strike. I foresee a lot of P-Bandai with this kit, though I wish the Star Build Strike is not one. And like me and many people out there we are joining you in wishing for a PG Sinanju.
speaking of next RG’s, since its going into the build fighters line with build strike coming out, I do hope it continues to where we see a RG Kampfer amazing. +_+ Can’t get enough kampfer.
Loving that Sinanju and it is quite clear that I need to buy one. That and the gold plated Hyaku Shiki (not this revive one which is just a golden yellow but not metallic)
Hahah, if I win anything I hope it’s the Graze Ein Ein Ein, I already bought the Graze Ritter at a convention, so it would feel a bit daft having two X’D I guess if I win it, I could switch one back to the ground type (or the space type), seeing as I’ve already built Carta’s command type.
Oh Ryan, you will have to suffer the Build Fighters again soon enough, why be so horrified at the possibility of an RG? X’D
Thanks for the extra parts, by the way, Syd, not sure who to give them to though! Currently I’ve got my Star Winning Gundam holding the drill-lance and the hatchet (which is a bit daft given it already has a big ass sword/rifle and all those shield bits). I made the little pod thing, but I’m really not sure what I can use it for!
This real grade sinanju, could be seen as a master grade with it’s inner frame and all, but man it sure looks damn good. Hope to win that graze, i dont exaclty like Ein, he was too whiny
I was really disappointed when i found out about the next RG. I was hoping for a GM or a Gouf, but it is what it is.
When I told my friend that the voice actress for Carta is the same for Belldandy(Ah My Goddess), it boggled his mind and I couldn’t stop laughing from his reaction!
If it’s a gift I may suggest the MG. It’s probably a little easier to assemble (except for the stickers), is a little more sturdy, and nothing says cool gift like a huge box. Plus the MG OVA comes with the Bazooka.
Hey guys great show as always. Im surprised that the SD RX 78 didnt use its shield in the weapon construction but still cool. As to the summer hobbyshow i was actually disappointed in the next kit line up but thats just me personally. As you have done i have thought extensively over what RG i would like to see next and have decided on the Nu Gundam and the Epyon, although an Astray Blue frame D? The one with all the swords would be pretty cool as well. Until next time.
Fun fact: One of the heads that the Northern Pod comes with isn’t actually a new head. It’s the head of the FX-9900 GX-Bit from After War Gundam X. Maybe that wasn’t really worth pointing out, but I thought it was an interesting little bit of trivia because X is my favorite Gundam series.
Nice episode as usual.
I won’t get the RG Sinanju since I already have the MG OVA version in my backlog. I never buy a Gundam kit twice, regardless of the scale, since for me they are like a figure I build and paint myself to get a realistic look. So buying twice the same MS is not for me.
And I’m ready to loose the RNG as usual lol.
Great episode!
The RG Sinanju looks nice but I think I’ll grab the MG someday all the reviews I’ve seen complain about pieces falling apart and some weak articulations.
Has the HG Graze Ein been given out? I really like it. The Graze Ritter is also nice. I would really appreciate either of them. Anyway thanks for your reviews on the Gaijin blog Syd.
While we were excited for the Gunpla Expo which we attend every November, Bandai threw us for a loop when they announced a summer Gunpla Expo taking place August 13th in Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City. Despite it […]
RG Build Strike???
To-be honest it’s unnecessary, why not make it an extension pack instead make the whole kit, look at Exia.
Come on, we are waiting for Unicorn, or at least another MS from Wing, like we already get lots of rumor from it.
Jesus C!!!!
Has it already come to this……?
Bandai rehashing the RG line…..?
That they did it for the MG line, ok….
That’s why they came up with Build Fighters, to sell “new” kits with minimal effort in therms of making new mold and pumping out new kits, but the RG line at this point?
Guess the economy in Japan is even worse then I thought…..
So bye bye MG line (I mean 4 kits a year half of the again, rehashes) and RG line, as this is the same road the MG line has gone up… 🙁
The 1/100 MG Full Armor Gundam Ver.Ka (GUNDAM THUNDERBOLT Ver.) is a monster of a kit and we want to do our best to show you all about it. Syd takes you through what you can expect from both the ‘naked’ Mobile […]
This kit is beyond amazing!I am chomping at the bit to get my hands on this guy (hed be my very first MG VER KA ever) and I’d like to start off on a serious heavy hitter!
Any way, fantastic review as always Syd and Ryan. 🙂
Its nice to know we’re getting another ver ka. I’m looking forward for the day that a Char Zaku II 3.0 come our way, by the way thanks for reading my comments…more power guys, Tod rulezzzzz
MG Full Armor is a nice kit but it is daunting with all those pieces…..to build, paint, and decal would take some serious time. I still want one, just unsure whether it will be HG or MG. Great build and solid review team.
Nice Full Armor even its more full cloth and weapons and armor :), just begin to build mg sinanju and waiting to see the rg version i think it will match with his big brother, as always good show guys
You guys are lucky, I can’t play Pokémon GO coz I have a Windows Phone… due to the lack of app support on Windows, I’ll be getting myself an iPhone SE soon just to play the game!!!
great episode, keep up the great work. And say hi to Todd for me :3
At first I wasn’t really into this thing, but after seeing this video I think I might have to change my opinion. And now I’m waiting eagerly for the Psycho Zaku.
Another episode of Gunpla TV bring another moment of joy, and Pokemon Go also brings just as much fun! I’ve played for just 3 days and i’m already level 12 and caught 1/3rd of the current pokedex.
Aww I feel sorry for Todd, I hope next month will let him satisfy his need for a kit to build. I know the RG Sinanju is definitely something I am getting.
I’m actually part of the minority, and I think the base MS of the FA Gundam Thunderbolt Ver. looks really good. It’s really detailed and although it looks similar to the RX-78-2, it’s new color palette is a really nice one, and there are many differences as well. I love the more blocky aesthetic, even more blockier than the already block RX-78-2, literally this thing is made of quadrilaterals.
I also like the emergency pod, it’s no core fighter, but it’s still cool looking, and it’s certainly more complex compared to the regular core fighter. I also love how sturdy it is, and how they used the landing gear to reinforce the connection. The plastic strips of plastic that cover the joints is obviously the hardest part of the build, but a new challenge is fun as well as long as nothing goes wrong! I also love the options for the eyes, I love it when a kit has a solid eye piece. I also just absolutely love how this entire kit was engineered. It’s got so many cool gimmicks to attach the Full Armor and it’s done so well! It’s sure one hell of a sturdy kit too, but attach him to a stand and he looks so beautiful! But once you open everything up and equip it all, he looks like an absolute beast. It’s just so majestic.
Man I was just getting into Iron Blooded Orphans and wanting to build a Barbatos, then I saw Thunderbolt December Sky now all I can think about is the Full Armor Gundam lol. I would really like to build this kit, its got alot of cool gimmicks especially the way the escape pod fits in there. Great episode guys!!!
Sinanjuuuuu!! greaaat show and awesome Full Armor Gundam version Ka Thunderbolts Version (what a mouthful that is) love to see a live build of the RG and am curious as to the December release. Keep em coming.
what was with that weird buzzing on the audio? Near the end of the video i heard what sounded like someone groaning in pain :P, weird. Great episode as always guys.
Hi guys, thanks for the episode and for the Thunderbolt review, can’t wait for it and for the RG Sinanju. Hey Ryan, not sure about your wife but mine also does not carry a nail clipper with her. She does however carry a couple of lipsticks, a tape measure, a brush, chewing gum, mints, tissues, mosquito repellent, our daughter’s bottle of water and a bunch of other stuff, obviously besides her purse and her mobile. She also thinks that my recently finished HG FA-78 Thunderbolt is cute, how can I not love her! 🙂 What will she think when she sees the MG Thunderbolt?
Another great episode guys, keep up the fantastic content. In regards to Ryan’s comment about the nail clippers, I do carry one in my backpack. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, I meet a lot of people both in and out of work. I want to keep my nails short as I don’t want to dig into my friends’ or clients’ skin when I am interacting with them. Secondly, my nail clipper has additional tools like a mini Swiss army knife. It came in handy during one of my weekly 10km runs. I used the mini knife function to pry open the shoe lace knot to return blood circulation on my friend’s foot. I never realize how handy this dollar store item would be.
I have to say, the MG Thunderbolt Gundam is one of the best Bandai model kits I have ever built. It has risen straight to the top along with the Sazabi Ver.Ka and Acguy.
It’s complex, great looking and super unique, just like those other 2 kits.
If people haven’t built the MG Thunderbolt, Sazabi Ver.Ka, Nu Ver.Ka or the Acguy they’re missing out!
We are still heavily distracted by the 1/100 MG Full Armor Gundam Ver.Ka (GUNDAM THUNDERBOLT Ver.) and if you haven’t seen it yet you really should. Check out the Unboxing here! Even with that huge Ver. Ka box […]
Aww come on guys, Alabama doesn’t do that anymore lol. Can’t wait for the Full Armor review, is probably one of my most anticipated kits this year. Great show as always. I do have one non Gunpla question. Do you guys know what is going on with the Revoltech Deadpool? It got announced and put up for PO but just kinda disappeared. Keep up the great work!
I was watching the episode and as soon as Todd started talking about his 1/100 Kimaris Trooper my doorbell rang with my 1/100 Kimaris Trooper and MG Full Armour Thunderbolt Gundam arrived.
Whether or not it was a sign from “The Todd” himself I started on the Kimaris right away!
That Kimaris looks really nice the way it looks like a charging knight (would look awesome as a “Black Knight”. Great show as always guys, can’t wait for the next one!
4 the turn X!!!! nice show as allways, it would be nice that also review incredible kits as the O 🙂 the bricks are sexy 8D, and another thing it would be great if the watter decals shows also as addon when you purchase a kit without it. Keep going good work guys!!
Guys, I know how it feels not being able to play Pokémon Go, I have a Windows Phone 🙁 but I’m getting myself a phone with android just to play it soon!
Can’t wait to see the Full Armour built! Really want the kit myself but with the import taxes I’d have to pay I’m not sure if it’s worth it yet. Also, the Turn X! I already have the MG Turn A with the Moonlight Butterfly expansion, having the Turn X to go along with it would be amazing!
Just ordered the FA Gundam Thunderbolt kit and now just waiting for the VF-31S Siegfried to turn up before completing my shipment. Looking forward to the review.
The 1/100 MG Full Armor Gundam Ver.Ka (GUNDAM THUNDERBOLT Ver.) is gorgeously awesome, though saying the name a couple times fast would probably make me straight pass out. Can’t wait to buy one from you guys, just gotta wait on that paycheck!
The Turn X is so freaking awesome, too. Looks like one hell of a panel-lining job!
Oh my god that MG FA Gundam Thunderbolt Ver. Ka looks sexy as hell. The sheer amount of bulk, power and dakka put into this thing can be called mech porn in my book. The Kimaris Trooper is one of my favorite kits, but I personally prefer the regular Kimaris more just due to it’s bulky design and awesome shoulderpads. I love them both though, and i’m probably going to get them both in HG form (already have the Kimaris). But whoo weh when I saw that lance, my god it’s just so large, long and streamlined with those boosters to help thrust the actual lance into the enemy…
…now that I think about it. Ryan would love this thing… ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The Gundam Local Type was something I was quite interested in, I love the looks of Origin kits and this would be the first Gundam from the line. Also, I really like the Gundam Ground Type, and since the Local Type looked so similar to the ground type, I was instantly interested. I agree that the markings really help elevate the look. The Local Type looks quite bland from a straightbuild, and panel lining/decaling would make him look a lot better. Good thing I always panel line and always put on clear stickers. I like the shield a lot, not only does it store the beam sabers for you if you want to equip it, but it can also be planted on the ground similar to the Gundam Ground Type’s shield, and act as some cover.
Syd, that’s not the Gundam X, that’s the Turn X, which isn’t a Gundam. I am a commenter and I correct mistakes that I see. Beep boop.
The Kimaris Trooper and the RX-78-1 get almost the same screentime before they get pwned. Poor them.
Pokemon Go is weird and imprecise. The avatar doesn’t always move, or it moves when you don’t, and it’s hard to tell where a Pokemon actually is. I don’t have a data plan, so I only play over wifi, and I play because the library where I work is a PokeStop.
I still dont like the Kimaris! i’ll never will! on the other hand, UC suits FTW!
That local type is growing on me and what’s not to be said about the FA gundam from thunderbolt.
turn x looks cool, but are the giveaway kits pre-built? i wanna build!
great episode btw. love the 1/100 kimaris trooper and i’ve wanted a good non-zeon suit that has a beam saber to fight another origin kit with.
Awesome episode as always! That kimaris trooper looks insane, especially with the chest boosters¡!! Anyways, im also really excited about non zeon origin kits! What do you guys think will come next?
Gotta love Bandai for throwing some low key rep out for fans of the 08th MS Team. The design of that new HG local type gundam is right up my alley; bump it up to MG status for some enhanced articulation and detail and I’d grab that faster than a backhand slap from Bright Noa himself.
on that side note, tho…
time to go re-watch me some Turn A now; been too long, and the X demands its tribute
Hi guys… what will be the future of MG’s? I have seen a lot of 1/100 lately but very few MG. Not that the IBO and RE aren’t great but I think Bandai is slowing the pace of MG’s.
Last episode was the third time you guys read one of my comments! I don’t even mind that I haven’t won anything. I feel like a special guest commenter at this point. The name is pronounced just like aerodynamic, but with a mike instead of a mic to answer you question lol. If anyone is interested, I’ll post a shot of the new Macross Mecha Colle kit along with some of the Battleship Yamato ones on the show us your collection group. Thanks again guys!
Instead of giving away kits every week and focusing mostly on Bandai and Gundam, could you build other kits from Kotobukiya/Hasegawa/Plum/Max Factory/etc., and then re-list the built kits on HLJ as special mark-down items (the same way you do B-Grade damaged items)? Or you could even sell them as mark-UP items with like a “Certified Built by Syd/Lindsay/etc.” autograph or something. I dunno.
I know some of those kits aren’t produced in nearly the same numbers and/or frequency as Gundam, so it would allow you to show them on video while still getting them to customers.
Just a thought. I’m mostly just here for the Turn X anyway. 😛
The Kimaris Trooper is cool and all BUT I simply cant stand his pilot, Galeio, so annoying and lame lol. None the less being in the hands of The Todd makes it all better.
It has been long while since I have seen hidden thrusters on any gundam’s chest. The only suits I recall which I has that gimmick was the GP01 and GP01 Full Burnern.
Wow! So glad to be back after a while and seeing brand new episodes for me to indulge in! I have a question: Can you please do a review on the P Bandai Waterproof Gundam when it is released? I, along with quite a few people, are curious as to whether the Waterproof Gundam is just a remold of the Local Type Gundam with a ton of stickers or a new mold with good part separation. Thanks! Great show as always and I’m looking forward to more! 🙂
Nice episode again and again guys! keep on updating us with the upcoming kits. That Turn X still is one of the best looking MG with the cool back pack gimmick! Hope that I’ll be the lucky one! can’t wait for the next episode!
dude, that turn X would go great with my Turn A gundam metal action figure. great episode, and i am hoping you have some pre-order Barbados Lupus still when paycheck hits.
Ah man! I am a huge advocate for Turn A as an amazing series more people need to see! I’ve been wanting to get that MG Turn X for a while now! I’d love to paint that thing up~
Hey Syd and Ryan, great Episode as always. Love the MG RX-78 Tbolt Ver Ka, I just ordered it and I’m super stoked to be able to build a new kit close to the same time. Keep up the the awesome content. I have a question for you guys. I was rewatching old episodes from the beginning and was hoping if we could do another Syd Top 5 Master Grade, and a viewers choice so Syd can build it please. Also maybe A Todd Top 5 too. Thanks!!
We here are just as excited as you Gunpla fans at home and couldn’t wait to get our hands on the newest Ver. Ka MG kit. Of course, we want to share our excitement — and the kit — with everyone so here is an […]
Some say he builds only Gundam kits at home. Others say he packs only Gundam kits to ship to customers at work. All we know for sure that he is called “The Todd”.
Some say that he was born in California, North America and that he learnt how to use a pair of nippers and sanding sticks before he can use a knife and fork, and that his first word was Gunpla. Others say that he was made as a 1:1 P-Bandai exclusive in Shizuoka, Japan and that his inner frame is comparable to that of the Astray Red Frame.…[Read more]
