i got a box of old broken kits and having fun restoring them. a few ideas for boss builds could be repairs, paint stripping (oven cleaner is great), creating replacement decals or even basic lighting techniques.
hmmm… i used to believe that lindsay was there to off set the geekyness of todd. now im think that maybe shes the geek and todds just a hyperactive fanboy.

a little tip if your going to paint the yellow belt pieces is to put them on a skewer with blu tack on the ends and u can paint them all at once.
update on the old kit – having a win with the restoration but cutting the windows is very sloppy. I’ve tried dremel drills, scalpels, and sharpened screw drivers with no luck….
yup its an old AMT kit. I’ve ripped out all the optics and having a go at making some replacement decals. the old halogen bulbs are definitely going in the bin, i have no idea how they didnt melt the kit or burn a house down. trying to drill out the windows but they are tiny, narrow and im only getting about 10 window to a snapped drill bit at…[Read more]
not so much a build but more an attempt at a restoration/resurrection of a kit made back in 1987. gunna ditch the fibre optics and the awful silver paint

its not bandai or even japan related but i have come across some old 90’s star trek and star wars kits, but the decals are munted. anyone got any ideas or sites i could try to get/make new ones?
