Oh man it’s been about a year since I’ve been able to catch a Hobbylink tv episode and It’s really nice to see how far Todd and Lindsay have come since they first came on.
Great to see the new life you guys have breathed into Hobbylink TV!
Yeah there is a bit of a blank space in the rules regarding that, I wouldn’t imagine putting up a previous project is any good but I would like to see an official ruling around models that have been half built or snap fitted but not worked on, especially in the Intermediate and Advanced categories.
If I can’t end up entering this, even by…[Read more]
I just finished snap building the Cherno and I must say that it looks great but definitely needs some paint to give it that awesome gritty look from the movie.
I was lucky enough to pre-order both this and the Gypsy Danger before they went to Order Stop on HLJ but I’m not sure when they’ll do a second run of them :/
I remember there were a few half snapped kits entering last time but I’m not too sure if the line of “started” is drawn at snap fitted or painted/prepped.
Can we get some rules around half snap fitted models @syd ?
I had just gotten stuck into snap building the Plamax 1/350 Cherno Alpha when the announcement came out so I thought I would use it for my entry!
I haven’t built a Plamax model kit before and so far I’m impressed with the molded detail.

The “Basic Rules” on the contest’s page does not mention projects in progress, only that you provide 4 WIP images throughout the contest. However it would be against the spirit of the contest to post a finished build that you already had pictures of that was done before the contest was announced. We should wait on an official ruling before anyone…[Read more]

I just went to see Final Fantasy XV Kingsglaive in the theatre on Sunday. It was a pretty good movie, incredible animation, decent story, translation from a Japanese script to English did leave a bit to be desired but if you haven’t seen it I’d say you might as well.
Honestly I’m disappointed with the RG Sinanju. As nice as it looks, it could be SO MUCH BETTER if they created a unique RG frame for it rather than reusing the Mk-II RG frame.
As it is it almost feels like the HGUC Sinanju’s armour was grafted onto an RG frame when they were designing it.
With that said though I may graft the HGUC Unicorn…[Read more]
After all this work do you think you’ll do it a second time for the Banshee? I’m just imagining them standing next to each other phasing through colours at the same time
I have to say, the MG Thunderbolt Gundam is one of the best Bandai model kits I have ever built. It has risen straight to the top along with the Sazabi Ver.Ka and Acguy.
It’s complex, great looking and super unique, just like those other 2 kits.
If people haven’t built the MG Thunderbolt, Sazabi Ver.Ka, Nu Ver.Ka or the Acguy they’re missing…[Read more]
@syd already did a live build but I’m afraid you missed it. Don’t worry though, he put up the vod of it on the channel
Because of the ~11 hour time difference I’m sure it’d be difficult for you to check all the time, but if you go onto the youtube channel and click the “options” gear next to the “subscribed” button you can enable notifications…[Read more]
I was watching the episode and as soon as Todd started talking about his 1/100 Kimaris Trooper my doorbell rang with my 1/100 Kimaris Trooper and MG Full Armour Thunderbolt Gundam arrived.
Whether or not it was a sign from “The Todd” himself I started on the Kimaris right away!
Good to see you guys made it back safe and sound. Hopefully you’ll come to New Zealand Comicon next year and give the gift of reasonably priced Gunpla 🙂
