Vastly preferring the non-chrome gold. So much easier to touch up, and elegant. Can’t wait for this guy to land in private warehouse tomorrow morning.

Very nice I just paid for it so it should be on its way very soon, and I’m looking forward to it, and I’m glad its not that mekki plated stuff like the old one and its not like the strike freedoms gold, it looks closer to the old hd version master grade, this is the last char/ Quattro suit I needed to have them all, well in master grades anyway, I almost bought the old one like a day or two before this was announced

Do you think Bandai is getting carried away with the P-Bandai releases? We saw that they announced a ton of Gundam kits for web exclusive, and I just wanted to know what your guys’ take is on that.

Is it too much? Should some of that (CATHEDRAL GUNDAM COUGH AND GM CANNON COUGH) be normal release?

I hope Bandai makes a Boba model kit soon, as much as i love the character i absolutely hate humanoid revoltech toys (the mecha are fine EVA, ZoE etc)
give the SW licence to goodsmilecompany and lets see some real great figures already :]
Also, gimme dat strike freedom ^^ it would look fantastic as the centerpiece of my MG collection ^^

hi guys great show. Honestly im expecting more from the MG line for the build fighters series. Red warrior only appear for maybe 3 episodes and it already have the MG treatment. i was expecting a MG build Burning Or a lightning Gundam. BTW i hope i win something this time.

RX-78-(02) is indeed one of the better looking Gundam from the earlier years. Was stoked to get my Ver. Ka a few years ago after having seeing the kit when I was younger, back when I was penniless 🙁

The Origin RX78-2 Gundam looks quite nice and it would be nice to see a MG in the near future. That Guntank looks fantastic too. As for shizuoka I was underwhelmed with the MG Red warrior, its not my jam. But the Red frame should be one super poseable kit and the Gundam Leopard was nice to see. but surprised to see no RE announcements though. Anyway that’s my rant XD. I’ll look forward to the next episode.

The strike freedom is one of the gundams that got me interested in building. I was thinking about getting the PG, but figured I needed to get a little more experience with building first. So I bought the RG Strike Freedom. Would love to have the Burst Mode though.

Great episode I’m a little disappointed that the new RG was the red frame as I’m not a big fan of SEED suits but hopefully the next one is the Qan[T] or something else like the unicorn or nu gundam what RG would you guys like to see?

Getting closer to 200 episodes!

Not surprised to see an Astray get the RG treatment but at its base variant the Red Frame might be the most inexpensive RG in the line ever just hope we see a conversion kit to make the variants like Kai and Dragon. Also do you think we will see effect parts for Starwars kits because bandai really does seem to be getting good and comfortable doing those. Ps see you guys at anime expo.

I prefer to build the MGs because of their details and scale. (and because PGs are expensive:)

The only thing the bothers me and what most of gunpla builders wish for – is: Kshatriya MG! Why Bandai doesn’t want to make us happy? But then I’m thinking… probably they still didn’t manage to solve the weight and joints problems on such kit. Wings/shields would be too heavy for joints I think.

The 1/48 Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter Moving Edition looks awesome!One question, is the strafighter semi build or it’s just like any other bandai kit?

Hi Syd and Ryan! I have a question, how do I apply top coat to a model kit? Is it necessary to spray them piece by piece, each section like whole shoulder unit, leg, etc, or whole assembled kit? And I’m also looking for to actual build of Hyaku Shiki 2.0. Full Buuurssstt!!

I’m different from other modelers because I also see the animes in which those mobile suit are. And so I know that come of them are awesome, some are not so bas, some of them are awful! Like Reconguista!
I don’t know if the success (or failure) of an anime change the amount of kits from that anime sold! Because….really…I will never buy a kit from reconguista of Gundam Age! Really! that’s impossible after you see the anime. Except if you are a kid or if you never saw the masterpiece of the Gundam universe.

I was kinda disappointed by the Shizuoka Hobby Show, only because I mainly buy MG kits and there was only one new one shown off (besides the P-Bandai items.)
With that said, the RE/100 Dijeh definitely lifted my spirits. While it looks to be a rather simple kit, the Dijeh looks very impressive just standing there. Bandai did an excellent job of taking a somewhat goofy 80s design and bringing it up to a modern look without ruining what made the design in the first place.

tbh i dont understand the RE line… as far as i can see it’s just the old 90’s 1/100 HG’s… then i again i mostly build 1/144… (not enough space for them 1/100’s. although for a 1/60 strike freedom…) but i keep hoping Bandai will release the gundam from Gundam Wing in HGAC 1/144 other then the wing gundams… i want a Deathscythe without a derp face, Bandai!

I’m a bit let down by Shizuoka Hobby Show. For the last 2 years we’ve had pretty high profile MGs anounced for August, the RX78-2 3.0 and then the Hi-Nu. I was looking forward to finding out what they had for this year, but Amazing Red Warrior is sort of low profile.

I’m mostly looking forward to the Hyaku Shiki 2.0 as it is my favourite MS design.

Also, that Strike Freedom looks like sweet eye candy.

I am a relatively new convert to Gundam.I was a keen modeller in my younger days but then life stepped in and time melted away.At the age of 61yrs I’m now thinking of retirement and have rekindled my interest in kits and all.It was while looking at G.kits I had my first glimpse of the mobile suit Gundam and that was it! I bought and built an HG Hi Mock and now I’m in deep.Plastic kits of giant robots…my Lord I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven already.I can hear my nine year old self saying I was born too soon.I love the Bandai stuff,it’s so clean and precise.I never leave my kits coloured as they come in the box as I’ve always painted them.I’m now getting into the airbrush side of things,which I love I’ve been following you for quite a while now and I’m always hot to check out your new offerings.Episode 176 was excellent.I like a man who’s ready to own up to his mistake,Sid.I have never built a Master Grade kit so in the event of my winning the Strike Freedom Full Burst I would be more than simply stoked,I’d be unbearable.Keep up the good work guys.

I was definitely surprised and spoiled by the announcement of the new EX-Standard but the only thing that bummed me was that there was a lack of an announcement for the next series of Gundam Build Fighters to come after Gundam Build Fighters Try. REALLY wanting to see new episodes of the series but the Gundam AGE and Gundam Seed series will just have to tide me over until then.

Coincidences are weird. I spent the last week making my Strike Freedom (Full Burst Mode) while watching your videos. Unfortunately, I am clumsier than a drunk Zaku pilot in space, so I managed to break one of the shoulder joints 🙁 To get to the point, I was wondering if you guys would ever re-start the part ordering service, even if we had to buy by plate, because I read that in Japan, Bandai sells individual plates, but doesn’t ship to the US. It would really help, as I just can’t find those shoulder joints anywhere. On the off chance that I somehow win a second Strike Freedom, it will probably be cannibalized to fix mine.

Shizuoka Hobby Show fulfilled my expectations perfectly. Although I’m getting tired of RG because there are just too many parts to paint I like how they pushed another popular kit into this line. Also I am really interested into these new Revive HG kits. They seem to be upgraded with better articulations/proportions so I hope it makes all older kits obsolete. Last but not least don’t forget about new SD line which looks to be on par with HG in terms of quality but let’s wait for actual release.

That was a sweet show! I am really impressed with the fixed config Origin RX78-02. My buddy and I just started reading the manga! I think my favorite part of the Shizuoka was seeing the Hyaku Shiki. Looks pretty dope.

I am pretty sad about the Shizuoka announcements to be honest. The RG Astray is cool and all, but half the releases are going to be Premium Bandai… Those kits cost more then 3 time the price of regular kits around here.

The starwars stuff is pretty cool too though! Can’t wait for the speeder bike.

Gotta Love the Strike Freedom, love to get the full burst. One thing I noticed and was disappointed about the Hobby Show, for gunpla at least, was all the P Bandai Releases. Seems like they put all the effort into P Bandai releases and nothing for the average consumer. It seems like they outnumbered the normal releases by a 3 to 1 margin I was amazed by that. The MG red Warrior I was amazed like you Syd, such an odd choice for the first Try Kit, seems like a cop out to me that they wanted to get a MG for that series and just re user a rx78 mould and did it red, very disappointed, was hoping for a burning, lightning or transient MG to be the first ones as those would be amazing and they probably sold better as HG than the Red warrior. As usual Keep up the good work.

Shizuoka was very disappointing for me, the RG Red Frame got me exited, but that exitment went down whaen i saw only one sword, give us two swords! the greywalk VF-1 was a huge disappointment for me, I’m a huge macross fan, but it seems like hasegawa and bandai are only interested in releasing VF-1 kits, they forgot that there are tons of other kits they could make I mean, hasegawa could do the YF-19 battroid? an SV-51 battroid, a jet mode YF-19 with fold booster and missiles? bandai could do transformable kits from macross zero and macross plus, give me some NEW macross! not just the re-re-re-rerelease oa a VF-1 with different decals!
the speeder bike looked awesome.

RG 00 Raiser is one of the coolest gundams out there but red astray as the next RG may take that sopt

I like the new Bandai 1/48 X-wing for it’s gimmic but I don’t love it. all of the Bandai Star Wars kits are great for the beginner end of the market but look too toy like. The kits Fine Moulds are just soo much better from a modellers point of view.

Just got my first Rg kit “Zeta”. These Rg kits must be seen in person to believe just how cool they are and would suggest any Gunpla builder out there who has not tried one, to do so.

The RX78-02 looks out of proportion alil. I think the 3.0 hands down has the best proportion apart from the gorilla hands.

It goes under the weapon’s barrel (the long rifle) and it can be used to catch incoming Beam Saber attacks without drawing his own beam saber.

Those feet don’t look minuscule now, and the entire thing in fact looks to have that nice slightly-wonky proportions thing that I love about the 0083 suits. The OO Raiser is kind of disappointing, all things considered. Not enough there to differentiate it from the HG. Oh well. Looking forward to seeing the inevitable Quanta.

As you where reviewing the OO Raiser I noticed you mentioning the back skirt moving side to side. This gave me the idea that you never watched Gundam OO.
May I suggest watching the show. Some people complain that it is too similar to Gundam Wing, but I guess that some people even complain about a sunny day with beautiful cherry tree blossom.
Nevertheless, it’s a great show with a rather good story, great action and cool animation. Still have to finish watching the show myself, am on episode 17 of season 2, but it’s really great thus far.

The RE/100 like keeps getting better. I got the Nightingale but skipped the MK-III and GP04. Seeing all this new technology, I’ll be all over the Dijeh!

I know a million people have probably said it but that angled beam saber effect part goes under the gun of the GPo4. Great episode as always, the GPo4 actually looks really good, especially compared to the Nightengale (which I thought was a little disappointing). Looking forward to what other ridiculously large kits we’ll get in this line (and your coverage of them!)

i was studying for my architecture board exam but i had to voluntarily pause to watch this episode! gunpla tv episodes just made my week!

Oh man! I wasnt sold on this RE100 line after seeing the first three but this GPO4 just looks awesome and I kind of want it.

The RG 00 does nothing for me, I prefer the GP04. I can’t wait for the Hyaku Shiki 2.0 and the RE/100 Dijeh. I wonder what the next MG is and also what will be the big December kit? It’s probably not going to be a PG, I hope it’s a MG Ver.Ka.

I am LOVING that GPO4.. though, i’m kinda preferring it without the 3 giant thrusters. It’s just a shame that it’s an RE100 instead of a MG.. As i’m not sure I can justify getting such a kit which isn’t that far from a MG in price.. but a lot simpler, when there’s so many MGs I still have on my radar.

Interesting how few comnments there are when they isn’t a free giveaway.

Not sure about the HG question; they’ve just announced new kits at the Shizuoka Hobby Show, so HGs look safe for now.
