    Hi,
My next model will be Trumpeter’s 1/700 USS Saratoga CV-3.

First a bit about the ship fromWikipedia:

USS Saratoga (CV-3) was a Lexington-class aircraft carrier built for the United States Navy during the 1920s. Originally designed as a battlecruiser, she was converted into one of the Navy’s first aircraft carriers during construction to comply with the Washington Naval Treaty of 1922. The ship entered service in 1928 and was assigned to the Pacific Fleet for her entire career. Saratoga and her sister ship, Lexington, were used to develop and refine carrier tactics in a series of annual exercises before World War II. On more than one occasion these included successful surprise attacks on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. She was one of three prewar US fleet aircraft carriers, along with Enterprise and Ranger, to serve throughout World War II.

The model impressive and quite large. Trumpeter provides a generous amount of planes to fit with the ship, and that is great.

I will add Eduard’s excellent PE set specific for this model, and build it full hull.

The first step, as it would be much more difficult to deal with the model with the PE bits glued to the hull, is to build the lower hull first. Then I sprayed it with dark red spray paint, which is very strong and will withstand handling.

I masked the plastic above the red hull with masking tape, so the plastic won’t be covered.

Then I removed the masking tape, and let everything cure for a couple of days. And started with adding the PE bits as you can see in the photos :0.

    Thanks,
    Eyal.
