  10. Aoshima really went all out with the Mechagodzilla and made it look great. I’m loving that fully articulated tail.

And those were some nice shots in and around the HLJ warehouse with Naruto. 😀

  11. I really love the figure-rise standard series. I have a SSJ Goku and a final form Frieza. They are nicely poseable, can recreate some classic fighting scenes.

  18. Huh is Tod tot? (excuse my bad German joke). It’s nice that David has taken a liking to building. I wonder if that Mecha Godzilla will later adopt fingerprints. It looks semi-glossy, not that I don’t like it that way though.

  21. Hi guys!!
Great episode once again, will you be stocking/distributing Banpresto figures anytime soon? They have so many great figures especially from My Hero Academia but they do not ship to countries outside of US, Europe and Asia. It would be awesome to buy the figures directly from you guys instead of paying crazy amounts for after market items.

  22. Good to see Mecha G get some love. After his recent cameo in Ready Player 1 i’am ready for some new mecha builds. My original kit version from the 1974 film is pretty cool (and still his best appearance on film in think) is about high grade scale so I hope we get a run off larger models, maybe a clear version would be cool too.

  40. Looking forward to seeing that gold plated Phenex. Also good work on the Mecha Godzilla the paint definitely made a big difference on that. Speaking of figure kits from the comment on today’s video what happened to the Gundam Figurise bust line? I was hoping there would be more of those coming out like for Char, Amuro, and other characters but I haven’t seen any mention of those for quite some time. I want to see if they come out with more figures for the Labo line too, the Fumina figure looks really good.

  43. Hello, i hope you will be able to get back these old discontinued products on line so we can look at them again ! It is sometimes fun to compare the old and new versions of a kit or figure.. And i was thinking about something.. Must be really cool to work in such a place like HLJ… And i’m sometimes asking myself : What is required to work at HLJ ? And by the way, don’t you have some moments where you don’t even known anymore where to look or what to build because there are just so many cool kits to try all around ??! Must be a hell of a temptation to always try new ones… I bet i would go totally crazy and try to build everything i may could find cool !! (there are just so many of them that looks quit fun to build.. your storage room must look like a gold mine to me !!) Anyway, good continuation, excellent job as usual.

    • Thanks for the comment!

You can still see discontinued products with some Google-fu, but we were seeing a lot of customers getting confused about long-gone items thinking that we could still stock them, or that they could order them. To clear up that confusion we removed the ability to find them directly through the site search results. Protip: if you start a search in Google with “site:hlj.com” you’ll be able to search absolutely everything. If it doesn’t turn up there, then the page probably doesn’t exist.

HLJ is a pretty cool place to work at, but like any workplace, it is a workplace and comes with all your typical office-y work. Job requirements really vary depending on the job — we have a lot of different departments here, from customer service, to logistics, to marketing, and plenty more. 🙂

Maybe adding an “advanced filter” to show discontinued kits would help with the databased performance?

  58. One thing always made me loose immersion with the story for the MechaGodzilla inclusion; why put all the resources into building the one massive mech, why not make 10+ (economy of scale) Gundam sized mechs to fight with? This allows multiple attack vectors and numerous targets to defend against. I know why it was done from the film making perspective, the difficulty of coordinating the actors to look at the smaller/larger target not physically there, and compositing the images would make for a very expensive film.

  59. Love the look of the Mechagodzilla but, as a newbie to kits, I’m worried about the mistakes in the instructions and interested in what paint you used to make him good and shiny. Do you have any details of both please?

  64. With great interest I listened to Scotts reasons for the missing avanced seach. Would this not be a good time to re-establish a portal to the Tanoue Zone? IIRC when the world …oops, I mean HLJ… was still young, the Tanoue Zone was a dimension to which all the items were banned which were no longer in production. I’m sure this would not affect the sales item database, as the Tanoue Zone has already been a database on its own back then.
