Level 75 Marketing Mage. Editor, admin, and occasional code monkey. Stand User in her free time. Though she does build kits when time allows, time doesn't allow often. Her favorite lines are Hasegawa's Mechatro WeGo line, Meng's World War Toons Pinky line, and weird miscellany like Platz's bonsai tree kits. In general, if it's a detailed miniature that's too small to be useful for anything other than taking up space, she'll probably love it.

  2. The fact God Mars got a model kit still astonishes me, but nonetheless the kit is pretty cool honestly, and I’ll probably pick it up at hlj in the future

  3. I just can’t bring myself to like the blaster master, it just looks too weird for my tastes, still, I hope that at least Bandai release those satellite cannons as a separate kit, I got a few custom ideas for them.

  4. I’m quite surprised the MG GNT-0000/FS 00 Qan[T] Full Saber is not a ‘gentei’ release.
I look forward to adding it to my collection one day.

  7. Wow… 1983! I just entered the world that year, haha! Haven’t actually watched God Mars before, but I did enjoy many other Super Robot shows at the time. Such an educational video on the history of Mecha anime in the 80’s, you rock Ardith! Hope to see you back more often!! XD

  11. I remember the “good old days” when I was a kid and I watched Macross on VHS. I think it was a rare tape and it was translated to my language (hungarian). I watched that VHS a lot of times, probably fell in love with the mecha animes back then.

  21. I can’t decide whether the Blast Master is trying to pull a Loheng-rinko or a Gundam X Jumaoh. Probably the latter. But it’s a Jegan and I don’t know how many regular release HGs we have of them.

  29. Though God Mars is a cool looking old school mecha, it is unfortunate that the design & build quality is not good enough, especially for the price

  30. I’m kind of new to the show (been subscribed to the Youtube channel for about one year and a half more or less) so I don’t know many members of the staff. But, oh my goodness, thank you Ardith for appearing on this episode and letting me know about you. Honestly, I would love to see her and Scott just talking about old anime shows, even when I don’t know s**t about them. It’s just so interesting and relaxing and magical.

  33. HobbyLinkJapan: The only company that has a bunch of North Americans (half of which are older than the audience) living in Japan talk about anime, figures, plastic model kits and other nerdy stuff, while cracking immature jokes on the internet for the amusement of others (and themselves), all the while being cool.

    That’s a compliment.

  34. That moment when: you’re expecting your regular toy review and instead you get a short lesson of the context of mecha shows in the late 70’s and early 80’s.

  36. Love godmars hits all the nostalgia points, great episode, Todd you mentioned the construction being very similar to koto kits, are moderoids polycaps similar as well?

  37. It’s always cool to see more classic super robots in plamo form. I wonder if the limited articulation of each of the God Mars robots is reminiscent to what old toys of the God Mars in the early 80’s would have been like.

  48. it sacrifices the toyetic fun of the combination for very accurate and cool looking robotmodes.
Im a very big fan of the super minipla line. They keep most of the toys transformation but add a few partsswapping moments. For example gaogaigar has transformation hands and more accuratly proportioned switchable hands.
on voltron you can transform it just like the old toy, but you are supposed to switch the lions heads for better proportioned ones and you can switch thew cats legs with metallic painted caps to be show accurate.

  50. Respect to the lady who cosplayed before it was cool. If only we don’t have to store the extra parts aside when we combine those 6 God Mars (even 1 got left out LOL). And that No name unit looks great, I look forward to how we can use it with other suits like the grand daddy or the IBO suits.
