I first heard of the series before the anime was announced, when I saw a blog post with the original jp release manga and saw the covers. Beautiful, sparkly covers. I checked out the series right away and fell in love. I’m behind with the manga but absolutely adored the anime. Sadly I couldn’t fit Phos in my preorders but the figure ended up looking even better than the prototype. Aboslutely gorgeous, loved the review! Now I’m even more in love with the figure. (*´ω`*)
Would love to see Good Smile make a Nendoroid but as the warning in the instruction says, the hair part is delicate — Nendoroid heads are big and could lead to scratching because they can fall so easily. Yet I’d still like they make one at least.

Yeah, I’m not sure they could use this same technique on a Nendoroid. The instructions warn not to touch the hair at all, because it could damage the special paint on the translucent PVC. But maybe they could find a new method to recreate this stunning look in Nendoroid form? Would be great if they could!

The figure itself has a real dynamic pose I absolutely love and the semi transparent materials make it so interesting. This seems like a figure that would be delightful to experiment with lighting.

As for competent use of CG, there’s certainly a balance to strike — and Rooster Teeth Animation has been getting better with their CH animated series as they go. Changes in their engines haven’t been the only things marking improvements either, as their animators just keep getting better. See ‘RWBY’ and their upcoming mecha series, ‘gen:LOCK.’

Phos looks really gorgeous in hand and gives me hope Antarcticite will come out just as beautiful.
I definitely think as time moves forward and the medium evolves CGI will continue proving itself a valid tool. It obviously can’t do everything yet and still has some issues but the same could be said of 2D animation. Before all these techniques were developed over time it could look pretty clunky. Does anyone remember how bad digital coloring was back when it first started being used?

Super cool figure, I watched the show and read the manga and I fell in love with the story and the design of the characters, and also the meaning behind the story and the many references to Hinduism, and other oriental religions as well I believe. Really one of the best stories I lately discovered. I never really had a big intrest in those kind of competitions as I am kind of unlucky but I will try since knowing and understanding this character really changed me.

I work in a library, and am currently making a viscous attempt to convince the higherups to get the series, as they only have the first three books. I will do my very best.
Additionally, the pose Phos is in looks very complicated and the balance must be tricky. Gotta hand it to the makers, they really did a good job!

When I first saw the Anime, I was completely speechless. The graphics, the voice actors behind each character, the plot, everything was beautiful.
I was kind of disappointed when I saw how the Anime ended, but it made me want to read the Manga, and I absolutely don’t regret it!! I won’t say anything related to the Manga to avoid any spoilers, but I’m highly hyped to see the season 2 as an Anime and see how it turns out. 🙂
