In February 2019, Pokemon Inc. and Fukushima Prefecture signed a partnership agreement to promote tourism, increase the consumption of prefectural products, and support the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011. As such, Chansey has been selected as the Fukushima Support Pokemon and will be the theme of several parks opening soon in the prefecture!
The first of the parks will open on Sunday, December 12, 2021 in Namiemachi with the opening ceremony being held at 11:00AM. Right after the ribbon is cut and the speeches are said the park will be open to the general public!
The 6-meter high Chansey slide is the highlight of the donated equipment from the Pokemon Company, but what would you like to try out? I’m eying those swings, myself. I can be a child again, dammit.
