Alteisen Riese S.R.D-S 1st Production Limited Ver. by Kotobukiya (Available From HobbyLink Japan – HLJ.com)
Alteisen Riese is all put together and truly looks like he’s come home straight from the game. Let’s check out its gimmicks and posability!
As usual, all you need is a good pair of nippers. If you want to make the kit better, I recommend some cement, too.
Front, side, and back shots. The scale looks right out of the game!
All the details around the head and chest are pretty sharp.
The elbows have double joints inside, but if you want to open the shoulders, they won’t move much.
You may notice a lot of gimmicks around the shoulders. The hatch can open, the magazine can be replaced, and the wings can move in a pretty good range.
The legs cannot move as much as the arms. But instead, the waist armor can move a bit.
The Revloving Vunker can open.
The wings on the back can move quite well in a nice range.
With all the additional parts, most of which are included with the first-print bonus, let’s see what we can get.
The Revloving Vunker with the effect part looks even better!
And with the bonus parts, this is about as video-gamey/anime as you can get.
Recreating the cover pose is always a good test of mobility.
As for the size, it’s much bigger than just about any SD Gundam.
Some final thoughts: I’ve been waiting for this kit ever since I saw the official pictures. The scale looks just right, and the mobility is quite good, too. When I was building it, it was a bit harder than most kits. You may even get a bit tired by putting on all the small parts, but when you finish it certainly pays off. With a kit like this I wouldn’t even think of painting, because it looks great already straight out of the box. Even with all the gimmicks and good mobility you see in the photos, it still stays together quite well most of the time. The only problems would be the arms and the waist. These problems can be easily solved by putting cement on the connection part between two sections, and it won’t impede any other parts. So overall, as the first kit in the new line, Alteisen Riese is certainly a great start. Looking forward to more to come! Thanks for checking this out!
