In regards to ‘My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic,’ it’s an expansive series. The TV show has 9 seasons (the last of which ends this year), a movie, and a special (Best Gift Ever). ‘Equestria Girls’ is a spin-off with the ponies as ‘humans’ with oddly-coloured skin. This is probably why the commenter said they prefer Koto’s design. ‘EG’ has both movies and specials, and a series of mini-episodes online. I do not know if the ‘EG’ micro-series will continue after ‘FiM’ ends.
It also has comics published by IDW. Like the old ‘Star Wars’ EU, the comics are considered canon unless they contradict the show or movies, in which case the show and movies take precedence.
