Valkyrie by Kotobukiya (Available From HobbyLink Japan – HLJ.com)
Valkyrie is the main character from the game series Legend of the Valkyrie. Let’s see how she looks in model form!
The cover art would look right at home next to anyone’s 1980s video game collection. As it should!
The box is the same size as a now normal sized High Grade Bandai kit.
The side shows the price of 4500 JPY at the corner. Get 20% off from HLJ.com!
The side of the box shows off the faces, weapons, and eye options.
When you crack open the box, you’ll see some iconic colors.
The manual kicks things off with the same cover image.
After a brief introduction to the game, you’ll get to see some nice poses and a handy guide on how to get the water slide eyes on.
From the plate layout, and lots of white space, it doesn’t look like too complicated a build.
Here are the highlights before the plates in alphabetical order. The faces are looking pretty sharp overall.
Some final thoughts. As a new kit from Kotobukiya, the overall quality seems quite promising based on the last few action figure type kits. The colors may be a little washed out, but let’s see how it looks all together, and what posing options are there. It’ll also be interesting to see if there’s a rhyme or reason for the unused parts. Let’s find out in Part 2! Thanks for checking this out.
