Toy Tengoku Special – Wonder Festival 2019 Winter

On this special episode of Toy Tengoku, we head on down to Makuhari Messe in Tokyo for Wonder Festival 2019 [Winter]! Wonder Festival is the biggest figure show and garage kit exhibition in Japan, so there’s plenty of amazing items to see (and buy).

We’ve focused this episode on the manufacturer side of the event so we could take a look at upcoming figures from Good Smile Company, Kotobukiya, FOTS, MegaHouse, Alter, and plenty of other favorites. Be sure to check them all out!

Her favorite lines are Hasegawa's Mechatro WeGo line, Meng's World War Toons Pinky line, and weird miscellany like Platz's bonsai tree kits. In general, if it's a detailed miniature that's too small to be useful for anything other than taking up space, she'll probably love it.

  1. Do they actually sell the Miku cars I see all the time or are they just for promotion?

    • Just for promotion, I’m afraid! But I bet you could get similar car itasha wraps to mimic the design in Japan

    • You can buy the wraps. The hood only sticker is under $100.
Putting it on properly takes some time and effort.

    • Those cars are from the Good Smile Racing team. They are not street legal.

1/32 scale versions (pre-painted) are available.

  4. Well. That sure was a lot of waifu statues.

The video raises questions for me.

1, What’s the term for a group of Eeveelutions? A pack, horde, swarm or maybe a Pokedex of Eevee? That statue is one.

2, Western gatherings of nerd and geeks tend to… Well… Smell bad… A persistent miasma of geek funk hangs in the air. Is the hygiene at a Japanese con just the same or do they tend to have better standards?

3, Is the competition on this video to win that full scale mecha statue or that 1:1 Bumblebee…? Or did I dream that part…?

Thanks for the sneak peeks at wallet destroying upcoming releases!
