The Dragon Quest Bar is Back!

Square Enix has announced its popular, permanent Dragon Quest-themed bar, Luida’s Bar, is reopening soon in Tokyo. With it, come limited-time menu items & commemorative gifts, too!

A Disturbance in the Restaurant Industry

At the beginning of September this year, Luida’s Bar closed due to concerns of Coronavirus outbreaks at restaurants in Japan. But thanks to a recent drop in cases in the country, a reopen has been planned for this month. (Ironically there has been a spike this week, but there is no sign of the opening being delayed.)

The bar will reopen today — November 13th — in collaboration with Karaoke Pasella. Of course, staff will be taking increased measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

New Location

As a matter of fact, this year is the bar’s 10th anniversary year. Until 2020, you could find Luida’s Bar in a cozy space in bustling Roppongi, not too far from Tokyo Tower. However, with its closing and reopening comes a new location, too: Akihabara, the anime Mecca.

This is arguably a more convenient location for folks visiting the bar, since the area is packed with shops & entertainment that Dragon Quest fans are sure to love!

New Menu Items

A special 4,000 yen course meal is being introduced for the opening of the bar’s new location. Just look at all that amazing themed food — Slime Knights, Slime buns, mini medals, and more!

Commemorative menu offerings, and commemorative gifts will only be available from November 13 – 20, 2020.

Anyone who goes during this period will receive 3 limited presents:
– A Slime Nikuman (Meat Bun)
– 500G Coupon, which you can use on your next visit
– Two Mini Medal Stamps

Finally, the first 400 customers will receive special Dai card for the arcade game Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai – Xross Blade.

Have you been to Luida’s Bar in the 10 years since it opened? Or would you go if you had the chance? Let us know in the comments!
