Robot Damashii Aura Battler Wryneck by Bandai (Part 2: Review)

Available From HobbyLink Japan

By Cacophanus from Mecha Damashii

Following the unboxing, here is the review for the Robot Damashii Wryneck from Aura Battler Dunbine. One of the later mass produced aura battlers in the series, the Wryneck was a very powerful mecha and this figure definitely does it justice.

Considering that the Wryneck hasn’t had much in the way of kits and figures over the years, this Robot Damashii release is a very welcome surprise. It also one of the best figures in the Robot Damashii line for Dunbine.

In order to give a bit of context to this figure, I have also included a Robot Damashii Billbine to help show how advanced this toy line has become and also quite how chunky this Wryneck figure is.

Like the previous aura battler figures in this line, the Wryneck needs to have its wings affixed at the rear. These are delicate and need to be handled with care but once affixed, are suitably sturdy. The cockpit also opens up but again lacks a figure to go inside it.

However, what this figure does expertly is sculpt and detailing coupled with very comprehensive articulation.

It’s also full of weapons, from the various missile pods to the aura sword and the aura daggers stored in the figure’s calves.

This really is a big aura battler figure and is very imposing. However, you will need a Tamashii Stand (sold separately) to really get the most out of it.

Compared to the Billbine, the Wryneck is a lot chunkier and it shows how far these Robot Damashii Aura Battler Dunbine figures have advanced over the years.

As toys go, then, this Wryneck figure is a majestic piece if ever there was one. However, while this is a cool piece of mecha design you will definitely appreciate it more if you are a fan of Aura Battler Dunbine.
