No I have never done a clear coat. It can scratch off with force of course. I find it useful if I’m not happy with how a certain color is looking. Some times when moving the legs the skirts will scratch off some of the leg paint but thats rare, and easy to touch up but like anything else if you treat it with care it will be just fine.
Wow, that looks really good. I love the metallic paint job and the sparkly color variation. I was almost expecting the Keroro figure to be metallic as well, haha.

I agree, the panels with no shading at all stand out too much. They could be battlefield replacement armor parts, even then I think they need a little weathering so they don’t contrast so much.
The rest of it looks like it’s been through some combat and seen some battlefield repair and paint jobs done with what they have in the field.
I got something new to try out for the panel lining, one that doesn’t involve an enamel wash. Kinda avoiding having to gloss coat bare plastic if I don’t need to, haha.
