So far, their record seems to be good in that they always get the forum back up one way or another. I think the fact that it’s up already (assuming it doesn’t go down again immediately) is a good sign.

Yep, same here. The forum just won’t load. Oh well, time to do other things until it comes back up.

I’m getting errors too. Main admin mentioned some work being done this weekend, along with the earlier notice about how things will be rocky while said work is conducted. Hopefully it will be a quickie.

Forum seems to be back up again.

    • Sorry guys, i approved all your accts on GE, we have it set for admin approval so that we avoid spam and bots. Buuuut GF is back up so whatever lol

      • Also, Sazabee, your account on GE has been active since January 21st. Any account you’ve tried to register afterwards that share that ip would have been rejected.

      • Thanks Squee. And honestly when I saw that all new accounts must be approved by an admin, I thought that it was a great idea.

Yeah, me too. A forum crash so soon? Got to draw the line somewhere.

  • Dlinker posted a new activity comment 6 years, 11 months ago

Haha, maybe we should take up Squee’s offer and see if we can get a sub-forum on GE for us refugees.

I tried it again just now and sure enough, it conked out.

Nothing for me so far. I’m able to log in like normal.

Very impressive work on this, man. The splotchy pre-shading ended up looking rather nice, giving the kit a subtle weathered effect (at least to my eyes). The decal work is done well overall, too. I’d say this is a kit you should be proud of.

That’s a nice shade of gold. What brand did you use for it? I got a hunch, but I could be wrong.

Nice, they even came with instructions. Always interesting to see metal option parts like these getting used.

Giving it the Kirara paint job too?

  • Dlinker posted a new activity comment 7 years ago

I see the obvious TES reference there. The forum can’t get back online soon enough. We need more order to keep track of projects like this, haha.

    • I agree, the forum needs back up.

I’ve contemplated on adding a few areas of very dark red to the Destroy Mode. Just haven’t made up my mind yet.

I guess that’s the magic of a bright photo, haha. That and this place doesn’t allow for anything higher-res without external links. I’m going attempt the digital camo on a spoon first and make sure I got the methods down. I’m switch to all lacquer paints on this so any screw-ups will take more time to fix.

Thank you, good sir. I honestly think this rifle is one of my rare strokes of genius so I’m really proud of it and how it came out. Hopefully the transitioning area I made with Apoxie Sculpt between the handle and receiver comes out good when I prime.

The tiny trigger area was a b*tch, though. Had to fix the area three times before settling on…[Read more]

I cut out the handle/stock from standard rifle (since it’s the key for having it usable without issue with the kit), fused it to the Gelgoog rifle you can build with the 1/144 System Weapon 002 set with the handle/trigger sawed off, then sawed off the front barrel portion of the Gelgoog rifle and fused in the barrel from a System Weapon 001 Zaku…[Read more]

Thanks, man! The rifle is pretty light, only slightly heavier than the standard rifle. It helps a ton that the GM Sniper II’s arms have solid joints. The only thing that may sag is the ball-joint for the trigger hand, but some primer and paint can fix that easily.

As a huge fan of German Grey, I’m anxious to see those frame parts.

Regarding the forum, it’s good news but only time will tell if the issue is solved completely. I’m hoping there’s no data loss this time.

Haha, actually, I haven’t painted this kit yet. This is the one I’m planning to try digital camo on. A bit more fixes on welds and then I can prime by the weekend.

    • That is one sick kit bash for the rifle you’ve got there, D! Even better that it doesn’t look like the rifle’s weighing down the supporting arm any πŸ˜€

How did you make the rifle? Anyway looks good. I want to get that kit when it’s in stock at my online store.

    • That looks great. The gun fits the GM suit so well, you could’ve fooled me if you said that it came with the kit originally.

    • Certainly fooled me. I thought you had painted it already. But a digital camo sounds like it would look fantastic on that Sniper.
