Gunpla TV – HGUC RX-78-2 Gundam

The HGUC RX-78-2 — another retro-review! This granddaddy HG was released back in November of 2001! Released as kit # 21 in the then-new HG Universal Century line, this bad boy was state of the art for his time with crisp parts molded in separate colors and packaged with a number of accessories.

Just how does this old dog stand up to the current releases — and is it still worth buying nearly 20 years later? Watch to find out!

If any kits in this post are backordered when you read this, don’t worry — Bandai is great about restocking periodically. But, you’ll want to get your order in to secure a spot in line for the next restock!

Level 75 Marketing Mage. Editor, admin, and occasional code monkey. Stand User in her free time. Though she does build kits when time allows, time doesn't allow often. Her favorite lines are Hasegawa's Mechatro WeGo line, Meng's World War Toons Pinky line, and weird miscellany like Platz's bonsai tree kits. In general, if it's a detailed miniature that's too small to be useful for anything other than taking up space, she'll probably love it.

  3. More old gold! Looking forward to seeing the build of the original PG RX-78, I’ve only ever built the PG Wing Gundam Zero Custom, which was just awesome for its time! I’m sure good old RX-78 will be just as fabulous! XD
