Her favorite lines are Hasegawa's Mechatro WeGo line, Meng's World War Toons Pinky line, and weird miscellany like Platz's bonsai tree kits. In general, if it's a detailed miniature that's too small to be useful for anything other than taking up space, she'll probably love it.

  1. Nice deep dive review.
Though HG Gunpla is not my cup of tea.

    • I’m probably gonna pick up this kit rather than the real grade. From what I’ve heard the RG doesn’t age well and honestly the proportions on the new HG look better in my opinion and the fact that you get the effect parts and they look so good helps as well.

    • Same. I prefer MGs and RGs.

  2. Very nice kit! The asymmetry of having a cannon on one side and a sword on the other has always kind of bugged me, but I do like the practicality of it, haha!

  3. I never understood how Sword Strike’s and Destiny’s swords could cut with an interrupted edge (just above their beam emitters there’s a square part). It would still be able to bludgeon ‘IBO’ – style, but that’s no longer a sword. It’s a spear or a club.

    • Well you’re not supposed to think about things like that. I think that’s what they were going for. Just go with it pretty much. 🤣

  4. I hope Bandai continues to use this style of shoulder joint. It looks like it would have much better articulation in comparison to the typical polycap that can swing outwards. Its always great to see Bandai improve kits.

  6. Unfortunately, this HG kit is missing a lot of details. Also the Master Grade Destiny did already, where as the Real Grade Destiny was fine (except the decals, e.g. small silver ones for the wings). This HG kit looks a little bit to flat. Compared to outstanding HG kits, such as the Narrative Gundam C-Packs, this HG Destiny Kit is not the best work, Bandai has lately released, neither is the price justified. There is much room for improvements.

  7. Very nice job reviewing the HGCE ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam.

The thing that surprised me with this HG release is the fact that Bandai included the effect parts with the kit. The RG version sold it through a separate, Premium Bandai add on set. Another surprise is that Bandai is not selling the HGCE ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam [Heine Westenfluss] as a Premium Bandai.

But honestly, that leaves me feeling suspicious that their intent for future releases will be in this manner:
    – MG ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam (Ver. 2.0)
    – MG ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam (Ver. 2.0) ➡ Extreme Blast Mode style w/ the effect parts, water slide decals, an exclusive display base
    ⭐Premium Bandai⭐
    – MG ZGMF-X42S Destiny Gundam [Heine Westenfluss] (Ver. 2.0) ➡w/ the effect parts, water slide decals, an exclusive display base

    😱😖

  11. A solo review? well this is new to me
This HG just drops both mg and rg aside, kinda wished bandai would make a 2.0 tho

  12. A very detailed and thorough review. This definitely seems to beat the RG in terms of extras though I still do like the RG details more. I wonder if Bandai will do a version 2.0 For the early RG kits?

  15. This is one of my favourite Gundam designs, but I hate most of its weapons. They look goofy.
