Frame Arms Girls Gourai by Kotobukiya Available From HobbyLink Japan
Frame Arms has been a popular series from Kotobukiya, and now they’ve expanded into a Girls line. Let’s see what you get with the unbox!
Sharp-looking cover art showing off the asymmetrical armaments… on her arms, etc.
The box is bigger than a regular HG.
Closeup of her face with the price of 4800 JPY shown in the corner. Get a 20% discount at HLJ.com!
The side of the box showing that she can carry extra weapons from the MSG series if you’ve got them kicking around.
There are multiple faces looking in different directions and a set of somewhat ridiculous decals that you can choose from.
When you crack open the box, you can see some body color, and even more of the mecha color.
Inside of the manual with official color guide.
There seems to be a lot of small parts, and options of course: hands, etc.
Color splash shows more examples of her carrying MSG weapons inside the manual, in case you think she’s not armed enough.
Plates shown in alphabetical order.
Face and hands parts inside separate plastic bags.
Some final thoughts. It’s an interesting move by Kotobukiya moving into the Frame Arms Girls line, which you’d think will definitely find a market in Japan. But of course how will the quality and the design of the finished model stack up? The drawings and box art all look fine, but it’s a question of how that translates into the plastic. As a gimmick, she can carry a lot of weapons, and this gives me hope that she’ll be solid enough when assembled so everything won’t fall off, so let’s find out together in part 2. Thanks for checking this out!
