Sniper Girl by Kotobukiya (Available From HobbyLink Japan – HLJ.com)
Sniper Girl is the character from the game Sekaiju no Meikyuu or Etrian Odyssey. Looks like an interesting kit, so let’s see what’s inside.
Nicely printed and clean cover art that shows Sniper Girl Hawkeye style. Or Katniss. Or Legolas. Or…
The box is a little smaller than what now could be considered an average HG box.
The side shows the price of 4200 JPY. Get 20% off at HLJ.com!
The side of the box that shows some gimmicks such as goggles, light armor mode and a stand. Should I have added Usopp above?
When you crack open the box, you can tell right off the hop that it’s not a complicated kit.
The manual cover has identical art.
When you open the manual, you’ll see a brief introduction to the game and the instructions of how to apply water slides.
The plates don’t look very large, and there’s lots of white space around the instructions themselves, again indicating relative simplicity.
However, the official color guide seems to indicate that the paint job would definitely involve a lot of work to get it just right.
Here are plates shown in alphabetical order.
Always nice to get multiple face options pre-painted and safely bagged. Different hands are included as well. Quite different from Gundam hands.
Now for some final thoughts. Recently I’ve been getting more and more content with the quality of Kotobukiya kits, as you may have seen their improvement over the last few reviews. So I’m less worried about the mobility and stability than I would have been many moons ago.. However, humanoid model kits are always quite different from blocky robots or even sharp detailed ones. So how will it stack up, comparing the build, the price, and all the poses that seem to be possible? Stick around, and let’s find out. Thanks for reading, everyone!
