Pokemon Day, February 27th, has just passed but the hype about the biggest news of the day is still going strong! For those who haven’t heard, Game Freak has just announced the next main installment into the Pokemon series with generation 9: Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet! And the best part? They’re due to be released this year!
The region for this generation is unnamed, but by the cultural references shown in the trailer and some of the obvious naming schemes involved, it’s clear that the next region will be a Spain-themed one! We’re excited to traverse this region and see all of the cultural easter eggs! Plus, it looks like this iteration of the series will feature an all-new art style for the humans in the series. It’s different from what we’re used to, but it certainly doesn’t look bad!
