Syd, I have deleted my entry for the intermediate of 1/48 mega size RX-78 ANA. Is it possible to join in beginner modeller with my FW converge dendrobium? I will do some panel lining, painting, detailing and decals
U don’t have to use kits bought from HLJ. But the kit must be available for sale at HLJ/ was at one point sold at HLJ. Dismantling and putting it back won’t make FW Converge a legal entry as this is a plamo competition not a figure competition. FW Converge is a figure not a plamo. I see that u previously tried to enter a mega size ANA RX-78-2 kit.…[Read more]
U still have > 3 months left to complete ur entry, grab one kit. It’s very easy to find. Even much easier and much cheaper than the limited edition ANA kit that u have tho. There’s still chance.:)
Like Meijin said, you can go to you local hobby store, buy a kit from them which HLJ sales and now you are in the running. They made some clarification to the rule which you should check out.
This year nothing fancy, just want to enjoy the process. After 2013, I have not touch any Gundam models and maybe is the good time I start with this, my entry on advanced class will be – Bandai Bearguy F (just the big one)
To be honest thats a nice canvas for a advance build. Can you share some of your ideas for it? Or will you be going with the flow and modify it as you go?
PS. I saw you posting in intermediate. They change rules this time. You can only post FINAL build in ONE of the three categories (well you can make more builds in all categories but only…[Read more]
my idea will mainly on steampunk and gothic. Already plan, and have a rough imagine in my mind. The only thing is parts that I not found that suit this yet.
thanks, most likely I will take the intermediate class out, don’t think I could finish 2 model in 4 months…plus this one got much more modding needed.
It isn’t too often that my two passions manage to cross paths. As an automotive photographer, getting the opportunity to build one of my friends’ cars in model form is about as good […]
Hi Robodaz! Sorry for the delay in replying 🙂
You are going to laugh at how I did the tyres, I actually have a slightly roughed up concrete on my patio and this is what I used to achieve the effect. I scuffed them along the concrete to eliminate the shine, and create the markings that appear as if they have been raced on.
For the paint, I only used a Tamiya TS spray can, no clear coat, no real prep. My key to the finish is heating the spray can up in warm-hot water so when the paint is shot, it glides on smooth and has next to no orange peel. I didn’t want a super glossy finish to the bodywork, as in the 70’s the cars weren’t as well presented as they are today and this was one key thing I want to replicate on all my classic F1 models. 🙂
Little more progress on Sir Jackie Stewarts Tyrrell 002. Ebbro makes fantastic quality kitsets! Hoping to have this one done this week to move onto the next one 😀
