my idea will mainly on steampunk and gothic. Already plan, and have a rough imagine in my mind. The only thing is parts that I not found that suit this yet.

thanks, most likely I will take the intermediate class out, don’t think I could finish 2 model in 4 months…plus this one got much more modding needed.

  • This year nothing fancy, just want to enjoy the process. After 2013, I have not touch any Gundam models and maybe is the good time I start with this, my entry on advanced class will be – Bandai Bearguy F (just the big one)

    • To be honest thats a nice canvas for a advance build. Can you share some of your ideas for it? Or will you be going with the flow and modify it as you go?
PS. I saw you posting in intermediate. They change rules this time. You can only post FINAL build in ONE of the three categories (well you can make more builds in all categories but only…[Read more]

Usually rivet for auto are all made in metal, as for sci-fi and military mostly are made in plastic.

If you are using Tamiya acrylic paint, yes. You can use X20A. If is lacquer paint, then you need leveling/retarded mild. have you use Tamiya enamel paint, is is really smooth with hand paint. 🙂

Does 95-98% humid consider high? My place is exact that humid starting Feb throughout till Oct, so please… don’t give me an excuse you can’t make it work. You got 20 years of experiences? But that work you submit doesn’t sound like a 20 years experience modeler work at all. What have you been doing these 20 years? Screw it, I rest my case here.…[Read more]

Back then, Future is clear, now is yellowish. And I heard from some builder that the formula is different from the past. so test some used part before on your real deal. 🙂

    • I just got the floor polish and I tested it out on my Transformers toys and it worked very well. No yellowing. 😀

There only 1 rules are all the same. ‘Never be a smart ass doing a model bigger than the rule said.’ I saw many good build get disqualify because the size is too big.

my bad. Hand painting with metallic color, try adding leveling thinner if you can find it, or just few drop of retarded mild from Mr. Hobby. It will be more smoother. 🙂

    • would the tamiya x20a thinner work??:)

      thanks for the replies!

I not try to harsh here, and if my comment offended you, I will apologize to you. If I’m a judge according to your model send to Intermediate class, many had ready to do slightly modification, spray can or airbrushing. But yours still in very beginning hand painting. Well, there is nothing wrong with hand painting, in fact mastering hand painting…[Read more]

    • First and foremost, I used the best lighting I had available. Secondly if you read in the comments in the last post I live in a very humid climate that was hit with drastically shifting temperatures. This leads to most model paints not setting well and to inform on the paints used the main black was done in Testor’s Black gloss spray enamel…[Read more]

    • Oh, one more thing…..as for my effort I had multiple delays in getting my kits to do the work. If I was able to get them when I wanted to get them (read in my past posts and you’ll understand) then I would have been able to plan my build more cleanly as well not to mention have gotten decals printed to improve the overall quality of the design.…[Read more]

If is TT hongli…seriously, stay as far as possible. Because it doesn’t worth a cent. XD

If you got a picture of the kit you refer to, I would like to see it and maybe I could help you. For TT Hongli model, and some other fake Bandai Gunpla models, usually the logo is in red like ‘Bandai’ but the words is not written as ‘Bandai’. Plus the…[Read more]

Try HiQparts in hlj. I not sure what metal you refer to. There are some other brand too –
MENG , Kotobukiya, Wave, Hobby Design, Model Factory Hiro, tuner model manufactory [T2M],

    • well yunno the parts that look like metal screws and what not.

    Don’t get me wrong….
I buy fake Bandai kit too… but like me explain why.
Most advance builder (gunpla) will buy fake gunpla kit, mainly only for certain weapon of this kit or just need the skeleton. Is a waste to buy the original just for those parts unless you are rich. 😛 Advance builder spend most of their money on aftermarket parts, putty…[Read more]

As long it got a logo of ‘Bandai’. Nobody will try to fake Bandai logo.

there are something I don’t really agree and need to speak it out. Resin kit is expensive, I myself sometime will buy Metalbox SD resin kit, but if written as ‘discontinued’, 3rd party is only my way to buy it. Same with Five Star Stories resin kit, original kit could easily…[Read more]

    • I liked your views…but after much thought *COUGHCANCERWARNINGWITHRESINKITSCOUGH* im not quite ready, nor equipped *COUGHBEDROOMMODLERCOUGH* to try.

Well I’m more worried about getting a knock off, sure I see the bandai logo…but its a stock image, but im not fully versed in the knock off world, I know some are branded like TT hongli (local…[Read more]
