Thanks guys!
@daverb Yeah, like the Stein too, and that riffle sets me off a little too!
@thebanshee13 I was contemplating it, ordered decals from Samuel a month ago for a commission I was working on, but wasn’t too pleased about the quality. When cutting them, one needs to be really careful not to touch them as the ink smudges really fast. Looked…[Read more] -

On the flip side of @thebanshee13 I’m happy because I’ve waited on picking up the original to get this one :D.

@thebanshee13, no, I didn’t paint the psycho frame. I was also worried it would ruin the clear effect, as some are unfortunate to get an opaque color.
@JoeMac, the pilot doesn’t come that way. He is all white out of the box. And thanks, it took me about two hours to get him that way -

Thanks @thebanshee13! Hahaha, I know I’ll have fun with that beast LOL.
I was thinking doing it the same way, but only starting with the white first. Being that the purple is a stronger color than the white, it’ll take more coats of white to cover the purple.
I hope the Unicorn will be in stock when you plan to order it, gonna order the LED’s…[Read more] -

Tough luck there, I agree with @thebanshee13 Samuel decals would be a good idea. Even if they haven’t made a Hi-Nu Ver.Ka sheet I think that a regular Nu ver.Ka or old Hi-Nu would work well.

@thebanshee13, as i live in the UK paints are quite difficult to get a hold of (so i thought), so i used to get them all of off eBay, but then i found model shop called eModels who supply Tamiya and Mr Hobby paints which is brilliant and i don’t have to pay more for shipping or have to wait for weeks either. i can send you a link to them if you…[Read more]

@thebanshee13 yeah its getting chilly up this way plus less than a month till comicon so its really time to work only on the Sazabi. My girlfriend just pointed out that i have built 4 RGs (5 if you count this one) since i have started the Sazabi so yeah i gotta finish.
@corn-wizard yeah the clear parts on this kit are MUCH clearer than the Zeta…[Read more] -

@thebanshee13, i did a little experiment with a leftover part from my clear Zeta and two matching decals from the RX-78-2, one the RG sticker and one the water slide decal. The photos really do not do the part justice but let me know which one u think looks better. -

Hi All. Thank you all for your help. You’ve cleared up points and made it a bit easier to choose what brush and compressor to get. Thanks @thebanshee13 for the link to the aribrush set. I’v decided to buy it and give it a go. Again thanks

Thanks for the mention @thebanshee13 Yeah i use some different methods and water slide application. First things first, GLOSS COAT. Always start with a gloss coat before you apply the decals. i made the mistake of thinking the washed clean plastic would be good enough… some of the decals on my RG RX-78-2 got rather silvered 🙁 So a very light…[Read more]

Oh please do that video!! I read on facebook that vinegar does help.. Hmm looks like I might have to find decals for X2 online.. Does it work for metal water slide decals also??
-
Never heard of metallic water slides so im not sure how well my method will work there. I will make the video once i get some more of my Sazabi ready for decals, so in a few days i should be ready to film it.

My gf built the MG full armored and glossed like @thebanshee13 mentioned. And about the seams @teetee580 mentioned, use masking on the psycho frames.
IF you are planing to coat each part, make sure the joins are not coated as well as the sides between pieces also. Bandai are quite accurate at piece sizes. If you coated some joins, you will have…[Read more]

@Comisama Please take note of the answers of @iamMajesty.
If you would like to get a good result on an expensive kit like that and being your first Gundam, spray all the armor parts separate!
If you’d do it like @thebanshee13 suggests you run the risk of getting spray on the Psycho frame, even if you leave it in Unicorn-mode. The closed armor…[Read more] -

@thebanshee13 Dude you are on a Gunpla building frenzy! Seems like you’re blasting out kits. The Zeta is looking good so far. I can’t wait to see the finished product. Happy building!

@thebanshee13 Nice! I saw on Google before a person who did this same conversion. It’s definitely nice. Great job man!

@thebanshee13 Very good points. Water slide decals seem much more forgiving that dry transfers. Thanks for your input. Happy building!
