We recently saw the progression made with the life-sized, moving RX-78-2 Gundam in Yokohama. Well, now we get our first glimpse of the life-sized Godzilla statue constructed on Awaji Island of Hyogo Prefecture.
Originally billed to open this summer, the construction was unfortunately delayed due to COVID-19. But never fear — the giant sculpture is making steady progress and will not be abandoned.
When completed, the statue will span 390 feet, compared to the 59 ft tall Gundam. You can see the model of the final form below.
While there is no due date for the Godzilla attraction opening right now, it is clear that progress is being made.
You’ll be able to check this kaiju out at the Nijigen no Mori theme park. We’ll be waiting for the news of its opening date!
