Action Funassyi by Bandai Available from HobbyLink Japan
If you’re outside Japan you may not have heard of the phenomenon knows as Funassyi (pronounced foon-a-shi) and if you’re in Japan you’ve probably heard of nothing else except for Funassyi for much of the past year. Funassyi is the unofficial mascot of Funabashi city in Chiba prefecture, resembles a pear, and is loved by both children and adults alike. He is so popular that known celebrities even go to see him at public appearances. Funassyi jumps around, squeals in a high voice, and ends every sentence with the sound -ashiiiii! Naturally, in Japan, anything so popular (and even less so) is made into books, movies, toys, and figures and even plastic models! Bandai has just released their model Action Funassyi. We’ve put him together in a short amount of time and created a bit of a pictorial build for you to enjoy.
