Gunpla TV – MODEROID ARIEL C-TYPE

Dave takes a look at another Good Smile Company kit this time: Ariel, from the Moderoid Line. Based of Yuichi Sasamoto’s sci-fi novel ‘ARIEL,’ this mecha comes with a C-TYPE sword and shield along with various hairstyles. We also take a look at some decal application to add some extra detail. We can’t wait for the Flight Unit version to land in September!

Level 75 Marketing Mage. Editor, admin, and occasional code monkey. Stand User in her free time. Though she does build kits when time allows, time doesn't allow often. Her favorite lines are Hasegawa's Mechatro WeGo line, Meng's World War Toons Pinky line, and weird miscellany like Platz's bonsai tree kits. In general, if it's a detailed miniature that's too small to be useful for anything other than taking up space, she'll probably love it.

  1. What a cool design for a robot. Not too simple, yet not too busy. Quite classy.

    • I will never understand how high heels are seen as practical. Either in combat or day to day. Though especially in combat.

Kinda would prefer this to look more androgynous personally. As a robot design its pretty cool, but does it need to be sexualised as well…?

Or at the very least, where are my sexy boy bots?

      • In ARIEL’s defence she’s a 30-year-old design.
Doesn’t JoJos have some sexy boy bots?

  10. That cover art is looking especially nice. It makes me think the novel must be an older one, like late 80s, early 90s?

  11. She’s on the cover of the March 1989 Hobby Japan.
There’s an OVA too, I think it came out in ’86
