Small update on the KA build. I wanted to integrate parts from the Zaku Amazing booster, but aside from the missile pod/knife holster attachment, everything is just a hair to big to fit onto the kit where I want, so it’s either back to the drawing board, or I cast and modify some pieces so that they fit. I also started painting some parts of the…[Read more]
Thanks, Bossguy! I was originally going to go with a predominantly red scheme, but after seeing how a lot of the armor components overlap on the K.A., I realized it lends itself really well to a two-tone one.
Yeah, the part thing is really irking me. All the commercials attached to build fighter tout the versatility of the booster packs, but it…[Read more]
Yeah, the Amazing Booster takes some work to attach its parts to the KA. Kinda jealous that you’ve already started to paint yours. I just primed mine this past weekend and I have to re-prime several pieces today after fixing issues.
Interesting color scheme. Can’t to see some more. I actually started on mine this past weekend. I got the head modification all ready and was able to get the entire chest and waist sections de-nubbed.
So, I finally got to take some pictures of my Banshee Display Base. I was going to post these earlier today while I was at work. But I suffered from a severe migraine all last night and most of today, so I didn’t even go to work. But here they are, I’ll also post up some pictures of my contest entry tomorrow.
That looks incredible. The colors all work together. The color of the psycoframe reminds me of my HGUC Banshee, haha. Still in awe of the custom black you used.
Thanks guys, I think the only thing that could have made this better was not dealing with the V-Fin. Other than that, I couldn’t be happier with how this guy turned out. I love it!
The episode was amazing. My friends have been pestering me to cosplay a Renato brother for a convention in March, and thanks to that episode, I committed to the group and I’m actually going to paint my K9 in the stock colors when it arrives, because it has earned the right to be represented in its intended glory.
Just saw it now and indeed it is a tense episode overall. I love how it was a contest between a combination of tactics, skills, and hidden trump cards, without any particle manipulation (unless you count the Exam System). Meijin Kawaguchi is just a beast and the KA is a fitting kit for him. It looked kinda tacky with that many weapon binders…[Read more]
Well, I have the display base together. However the V-Fin broke for a 3rd time while I was putting it together. I’ve held it in place for the last 30min waiting for the cement to dry enough so that it can support itself. I’ve got the head on a clip at a crazy angle. But it’s drying. I’ll put some touch up paint on it once its fully dried. And…[Read more]
I still have to attach the actual head to the base. I might wait til Sunday to actually do that. Give the cement enough time to harden so the sudden jar won’t break it again.
Well, the V-Fin is pretty solid. It’ll hold since the base itself won’t be moving or transforming. I’m going to add some touch up paint here in a few mins, I’ll try to get some pics up of it tonight.
I’m also going to clean up my work area and gear up for the next project. The Kampfer Amazing.
I think it was a the stress of being cut out of the runner. If you’ve put one of these together, the V-Fin can rotate and open up, it was the pivot joint that broke off. So the stress of that moving caused it to break the 2nd time. Then me fumbling around with it trying to get it all together broke it the 3rd time.
Holy crap, so pretty much just paint put together and don’t touch on those bases. Nice to know after my banshee took a shelf dive yesterday I planed on picking one up, same for the unicorn because I loved the hg banshee build itself, figure no need to buy the MG my wish list of kits on gundamplanet is at 18 right now mostly all master grade so I…[Read more]
Excellent photo that’s showing off excellent decal work. Flat coated already, it looks like. Also, did you keep the decal on the shoulder or is that a new one?
Thanks man! It is already flat coated and built. The shield might need another coat on the underside. That is the exact same decal as before. I chanced it and kept it, and it looks fine. Thanks for the weathering tip. I wouldn’t have kept it if you hadn’t said that.
2 weeks and I have the upper body complete. That’s. It. 🙁
I have no idea how fast you got to be going to get your results in such a short time. I’m practically standing still in comparison
It is clear orange over the gold. However I did add a drop or two of the clear red to darken it up a bit. It cam out as a great looking burnt orange. I really love the look of it!
You should so get a 350z model and paint it like that it would look sick. I don’t know why but that’s the first thing I thought of when I saw that part. Look great man.
I watched some reviews about them on YouTube. Judging by the size of the Amazing Binders, and what I saw on those vids. I think they’ll be just the right size. Making sure they will fit properly, that will be the challenge.
Probably just wait until the forums are up again. I don’t have any pics to post, though. Too tired last night to work on the Draken-E so I’m doing it tonight.
