Gundam Forums 9 years, 2 months ago Well, I have the display base together. However the V-Fin broke for a 3rd time while I was putting it together. I’ve held it in place for the last 30min waiting for the cement to dry enough so that it can support itself. I’ve got the head on a clip at a crazy angle. But it’s drying. I’ll put some touch up paint on it once its fully dried. And leave it as is in Destroy Mode. No going back now.

Man that sucks glad to hear its atkeast going back together though,I know you have put a lot of work into It.
I still have to attach the actual head to the base. I might wait til Sunday to actually do that. Give the cement enough time to harden so the sudden jar won’t break it again.
Wow, that sounds bad. At least it sounds okay.
Them V-Fins, man. They can be so delicate. Three times fixing it sounds like a pain. Maybe this last time is the charm.
Well, the V-Fin is pretty solid. It’ll hold since the base itself won’t be moving or transforming. I’m going to add some touch up paint here in a few mins, I’ll try to get some pics up of it tonight.
I’m also going to clean up my work area and gear up for the next project. The Kampfer Amazing.
Hopefully it comes out looking good. What caused it to break in the first place just weak plastic?
I think it was a the stress of being cut out of the runner. If you’ve put one of these together, the V-Fin can rotate and open up, it was the pivot joint that broke off. So the stress of that moving caused it to break the 2nd time. Then me fumbling around with it trying to get it all together broke it the 3rd time.
And these things hate me. I got my Unicorn base down for a comparison shot. And when I went to turn the head, the whole damn thing broke off. It’s being held up with toothpicks as a whole shit ton of glue dries. I’m never touching these things again after this.
Holy crap, so pretty much just paint put together and don’t touch on those bases. Nice to know after my banshee took a shelf dive yesterday I planed on picking one up, same for the unicorn because I loved the hg banshee build itself, figure no need to buy the MG my wish list of kits on gundamplanet is at 18 right now mostly all master grade so I don’t need to add UC MG’s to it or I will wind up broke for the next two years lol
