As it is the 40th anniversary of Gunpla I decided to build the Ver. Ka (and experience the terror of dry rub transfers). But as it is made from the parts of two GMs from 0083 I decided to get another RX-78 and recreate the RX-78-1 from Mobile Suit Variations.
The MS-06V Zaku tank rounds off the Zaku battalion that I began while Build Fighters Try was originally broadcast. I’ve also built the third GM using the 08th MS Team Ground…
Thanks all for all the viewings and feedback. it’s definitely a long journey for me. it paid off in the end. It’s a big surprise I got bumped to the Advanced catagory and came 2nd. Thanks HLJ for organizing this great event. It’s an eye opening experience to see the outstanding works from talent all over the world.
looks like i got bumped up too. considering that i had little experience with painting and LEDs i dont know whether to be pissed or happy that it made the cut
Yes you did. saw u entry in the advanced group. .. I love your led mods on the macross ship so much. so well executed. As u say.. not easy to pull it off with this small scale. I would love to get this kit too.. so much details!.. fun to see it coming to life
cheers mate, the only thing i can recommend if anyone is going to try something similar is to have a good supply of tiny drill bits and use epoxy glue for the fibre optics. model glue and super glue eats the stuff, and you wont know until you go to test the lights
Almost done, just gotta cut up some shiny green stickers for the front and back camera.
borrowed markings from a bunch of kits (RE/100 Dijeh, RE/100 Gerbera, RE/100 MK-III, MG…
Panel lining done, went with brown for the blue parts, black for the vents on the face, and grey for all the rest.
Now just to rummage through all my leftover decals and see which ones to apply (Imo, it could use a few more than are included)
Base color applied. will be doing panel lining, decal after. Seal again and add chipping, streaks, wash and mud effect. yet to know how it turns out in the end. I guess we will find out soon!
Most folks go with black or gray. I would recommend using brown only at the feet, maybe ankles, because that’s where most [brown] dirt will build up in real life.
