Yeah it was a bit of a process with a fair amount of cutting. I posted some more detailed pics of that process in this thread a little while ago. There is a full detailed WIP on my FB page if you are interested
So this is how I managed to get the delta plus legs onto the sinanju stein waist with minimal loss of articulation. Also most of the leg frame is finished up at this point.
What kits are you mashing if you don’t mind me asking? It looks kinda like a rezel and delta plus maybe? And either way it goes together well 😀 do you plan on painting?
Delta plus leg with the sinanju stein leg thruster. The piece will also include parts from the tallgeese EW and the GP03S. Total paint job with a white and two tone of grey, some metallic detailing and red accenting.
Interesting idea. This Delta could turn out great (or not). The big question about it. Will it transform?
PS. I cannot wait to see the legs assembled – cause right unless you heavy modify the steins trusters they will look awkward (im not sure if they will hide the orginal Delta leg thrusters ).
All in all good luck with the build. And if its…[Read more]
Well I can tell you that it will not transform. The legs are the only parts of the delta that I’m using. I didn’t mod the steins thrusters yet but when I test fit the part of the thruster that connects to the arm it looked good and didn’t completly hide the delta thruster
I’m confident that it will look good when I’m finished
So the first modification in this kit bash was trying to get the sinanju stein feet onto the delta plus legs. Since both have the female side of the connection, I needed to graft the post from the bottom of the sinanju leg into a poly cap of sorts to replace the actual poly cap from the leg of the delta.
I’m going to smash these 4 together and see what I get 😉 there will be a full WIP on my FB page for those interested. More posts once I get to some of the modifications
Well now i just have to wait for HLJ to get the RG Wing Zero back in… At least i can look at pretty pictures and try to learn Japanese in the mean time.
well this one is finally done, until the water slides i ordered come in. So much weight from all those weapons makes this one rather limited when it comes to poses. Those fuel…
While im waiting for a package full of plastic to arrive, i figured i would get some work done on the nu ver ka. Im trying to get as much done before the kits for my monster kit bash come in.
So I got a bunch of plastic for the holiday and i got a few (less than half) of the weapons on the clear unicorn. I think its time to start on the pink and green nu with some…
The FA Unicorn is looking great, have you thought about getting the PG Unicorn? Also, that’s a really cool colour scheme for a Nu, it’ll look really nice with your Sazabi.
Some experimenting with sharpie and chrome paint got me the effect that i was looking for. This is turning out do be an interesting build with lots of super tiny parts.
The weather and timing finally worked out and i was able to snap some shots of the finished Sazabi. I wish i could have had this guy finished for the GBWC but gunpla ADD got…
Bad lighting and poor camera quality are the main cause. Better resolution pics on my FB page. I hear what you are saying about the decals blending into the background on clear kits, but i really enjoy the effect it gives.
ok folks i got a wacky idea that bounced into my head and ive been giving it some serious thought. I want to take the RG Zaku and bash it with the HG Gouf custom, http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN965503/Gun I don’t know if i would call it a bash per se. im just looking to make a highly detailed RG quality Gouf so i will be trying to mod the HG armor…[Read more]
Its a interesting project. You could call it a sneak peak into the RG that is yet to come. Legs should be a fairy simple job. From the looks you could leave the RG feet. Hands should be a little more tricky. The way the Gouf are made it hard for me to figure out how to make sliding armor effect.
I wish you luck with the project. Just remember…[Read more]
You may end up having to sacrifice sone of the sliding panels but it should be doable for the most part, especially if you’re planning to keep the same arms used on the HG.
good luck with the project. keep in mind that the torso of the zaku & the gouf custom is different. might have a hard time connecting the leg of the other to the hips & torso of the other since the RG has its own inner frame. keep us posted with your project. 🙂
Hey fellow builders, question time again.
So i might have painted myself into a corner with this one. Im working on the FA Unicorn Ver Ka and since it is a clear kit im looking to do water slides. I think my RG Strike Freedom came out fairly well and i really like the contrast of water slides on clear plastic. The issue is that Bandai (to the best…[Read more]
i no samuel decals do a pretty good jobs replicating water slides for u u an try them or you can buy two sets of unicorn gundam ver ka decals water slides and prob combine it with decals from sinanju to get the fuel tank decals
Well im done with the unicorn for a little bit. im trying to decide on what to do with the V fin and ive been doing a little experimenting with sharpie but i still havent…
very nice. the clear parts seam to have a glittery effect in them. is it really like that or it only seems that way on your photos? good job on managing nubs, cant find a single nubmark on anyone of your photos. 🙂
Thanks for the kind words. There really is glitter embedded in the clear (white) runners in this kit. The nub marks on those i cleaned up with tooth paste and a cotton swab. The inner frame and the blue (feet) are done in a gloss injection style plastic so those gate marks are impossible to remove. The placement of some of the decals will hide…[Read more]
Go with waterslides. Just checked your vinegar method on waterslides from samuel (crest for X1) it worked great (used about 40-50% diluted vinegar).
Just keep in mind that most of 3rd party waterslides arent precut so you need to trim them a bit before you apply them.
how is the side thruster of the stein fitted to the delta’s leg? did you have to do a cut out to fit the moveable parts?
