Today we take a look at a mean green slightly realistic looking fighting machine, the Frame Arms Genbu, also known as the Black Tortoise! The Bandai HG Mazinger Z from the movie Mazinger Z: Infinity has also arrived and it has possibly one of the best looking box art pieces from Bandai to date! The new Mazinger Z looked so good Scott returns to talk about it!

Wish you guys showed us what the decal sheet looked like for the Black Tortoise. Otherwise solid episode. I’m looking forward to the Mazinger Z(ed). Also would like to see boss builds come back too. As for a recommendation, I’d say the boss should decide what they want to build. Let their passion shine.

Actually this kit does not come with any decals, any other effects you see on the Bandai site or fan sites would have been painted on.

Ah yes, lovely to find Bandai are spending their RG plans wisely by churning out yet another kit that already exists (I say with lashings of sarcasm).
Nice to finally see mention of the RX-Zeromaru, I think some of the more inventive Build Divers kits don’t get enough coverage.
Would love to see Boss Builds back, I think there’s a lot to be said, getting tips from people who really know their stuff – in particular I’m really looking forward to hearing about finishes and customising! While I’m not a scale model builder, I’m always looking for new ways to customise stuff!

I’m waiting for the Great Mazinger Infinity! The Mazinger is already mine.
I hope they will keep doing HG of super robots! The only alternative is to buy the Super Mini Pla series but I discovered that they are random box. I cannot buy something without being sure that I get what I want.

i got a box of old broken kits and having fun restoring them. a few ideas for boss builds could be repairs, paint stripping (oven cleaner is great), creating replacement decals or even basic lighting techniques.

I’m a huuuuuge fan of the mazinger series, a few months ago I pre ordered that kit along with the great mazinger that comes out in september and the MODEROID Mazinkaiser Haou. My mazinger Z kit now is waiting on HLJ’s private warehouse, Thanks HLJ for that awesome feature! actually, as I write this I’m finishing the Mazinkaiser kit by kotobukiya, and I have to say, with a little love, that kit looks impressive, I would love to see what Scott does with his Mazinger Z build.
A Re-boot of boss builds? Where do I sign? I learned soooo much from the tutorials by Syd and that show, hope Todd makes some tutorials of his own.
Do you guys know of some day you will be able to sell the bandai star wars kits again? I’m asking this because I have found a few sites that sell them.
Also, please put on a wish list on your site, every birthday my family and friends give me useless stuff, it would be amazing to share a wishlist on my social media and then everyone would know what I want.

I’ve noticed that a lot of the recent Frame Arms have variations on the same name. Is that just a case of pronouncing the same characters in Chinese/Japanese/English? For instance, the “Byakko” is listed on HLJ as such, but other sites/the box/the manual also use “Baihu” and “White Tiger” as well, all three interchangeably.

I’m actually glad RX-Zeromaru’s psycoframe is done with stickers, since this will let people paint it Final Mission green, Perfect blue, Phenex blue, or Banshee gold. I’m thinking of doing Ayame’s up multi-coloured.

Boss Builds should return, but don’t rush it out. We know running a company is not easy and very time consuming. But tutorials would be great, and that could be what Boss Builds centers around, while GunplaTV talks about the kits coming out. Just a thought.
