Gunpla TV – Episode 110 – MG Sinanju OVA or ver. KA? A comparison – Damaged Phalanx!

Many people are wondering; How exactly do the old MG Sinanju Ver Ka and the new MG Sinanju OVA differ? Well, Syd and Ryan have the breakdown for you and a discussion on the merits of each. And Ryan gives a noob tutorial on how to apply a little battle damage to the 1/72 SDR-04-Mk.XII Destroid Phalanx.

Kits featured in this video:

1/100 MG Ball Ver. Ka
1/100 MG MSN-06S Sinanju Ver. Ka
1/100 MG Sinanju

  2. The girls und Panzer kit…is that the old Dragon Imperial Series kit? And regarding battle damage…try thinning out the plastic from behind with a dremel or other motor tool before making the bullet holes.

  3. Hey syd,
You said that the aile is coming in May but the preorder says June, so which is it?

    • At the time of filming all indications were May release. Perhaps it has been pushed back.

  4. love girls und panzer, theres quite a bit gamer-folk from world of tanks and references to the game too. btw one of the great features of the girls und panzer tank kits is that the panzer iv is able to mount a nendoroid character of the show. Please do link that tutorial for battle damage that ryan used.

  5. Hi syd and ryan great show

Now that you mentioned anime on the show I have a few questions:

    -Have you ever watched anime?
-If you did, what was your first one?
-Are you currently watching one, and what is your favourite?

  6. Hey guys,

You didn’t mention the Sinanju Ver ka Titanium… Is there a reason for that? I’d like to build a Sinanju and the Titanium has got my attention (only it’s on backorder on your site, wonder when that’s coming back…?).

I just wanted to know if it was worth it to wait for a re-stock of the Titanium or just go for the new OAV version?

    Cheers

    • Hi Keika,

We didn’t mention the Titanium version because it is the exact same kit as the Sinanju Ver Ka except with the extra finish applied.

  7. OK thanks

Was that “May release” an answer to my second question?

  8. @keika i think he was replying to my comment of the aile being shownbas a June release instead of May like he said during the show?

  9. Keika, I’m pretty sure he was referring to ClayCannon’s comment, regarding the preorder of the aile strike (see 3rd comment). 😉

  10. Great show as always!

I got some questions about Bandai’s release-schedule when it comes to Gundams though.
Just started watching Gundam 00 and I really like it. But the releases confuse me.
When you look at similar shows like Wing and Seed, both those lines have MG-versions of the main characters/Gundams. But not 00??
Only the “main” good guy is available in MG-grade.
And if you look at Unicorn its the other way around. No HG’s only MG’s (don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying its a bad thing, just… odd)!?

  11. @jocke it took 10 years to.get all the seed kits and 15 for the wings. So for all the 00 suits to get the MG treatment youll have too wait for a major milestone anniversary probably

Oh my. Thank you for clearing that up.

  13. Hey Syd and Ryan, I had a question about the EW MG kits. I’ve noticed that the Deathscythe and Wing Gundam have two different versions and was wondering if you think or know whether or not bandai is planning to give the same treatment to the other kits, mainly Shenlong and Sandrock Gundam. For example Altron and Sandrock Armadillo.

  14. Hey Syd and Ryan, a signed poster from you guys would be cool. 110 episodes is quite a feat and I know you have reached a large audience by now. Believe it or not, you guys are quite popular. Keep up the great show and I’m looking forward to episode 200. Cheers!

  17. Hey Syd and Ryan. Love the show, look forward to it every week! I just recently finished my set of the original five Seed suits with the Strike ver RM. My question is about the ver RM sword/launcher set. Will HLJ be carrying this or will it always be a Japan-only exclusive via Bandai’s e-shop? If you won’t be able to carry it, can you recommend a reputable source to get one to Canada? This thing is a must-have!

    Cheers
