Oh hi there I guess. I think I can answer some worries Gianpla has regarding to this hobby here in the Philippines.
1. It’s so expensive
ans: It is a bit expensive for you. Because you still are not at that age with a job. I have a job and it’s still expensive for me. The key here is to budget every month. You want that kit but it’s 3000 pesos.…[Read more]
im worried about gunpla maybe when i grow older and having my own money gunplas are already not available in the philippines like what happen to the zoids here in the philippines when im 4-6 years old zoids are in stores but now i only see gunpla and other kits i can’t go to japan or other countries to buy gunplas when its not available in here so…[Read more]
Nonsense. Bandai will forever there, even you get old. And the Gundam will only get better each come back. I used to buy many MGs, ver.1…what happen after few years? 1.5 version, then 2.0, now 3.0… it will never end.
Bandai only reissue series by series in a cycle. Example – If this years is belong to wing series, all of them will reissue,…[Read more]
i really hate HG because hg have weak plastic i can prove it because i have a lot of broken HG now i have 1/100 NG freedom and its better than a high grade
you are better than me that in Cambodia we don’t have a gunpla store at all…that every time i want to buy i need to order online and you know what…the SHIPPING it cost me around 15$ to 20$ per kit…..just remind you that you live in a country better than me…..T-T
Guys i know my style of saving money is wrong but im doing this for a Master grade i can’t buy at hlj or to any online stores because i still have no credit card 🙁 and no one know how i save my money even my parents don’t know it only all of you know it
Hey man just want to drop a comment, but you should look after your self more, Gunpla is fun its true, but they are also costly, saving money to buy them is one thing but to the point where you starve your self is a bit extreme.
Since your still in school I can understand that your income is very limited, but really is it worth it to harm your…[Read more]
sorry but im not patiently saving slow but your correct i should eat i also said it to my self before but after i bought a single master grade this school year i will eat and i will buy the next one in the next school year 😀
my dear kabayan, i had learnt n in love with gunpla since i was 10. sama as u, financially we are weak. but i had waited 20yrs to start tis expensive but self rewarding hobby. i did part time like paper boy n a shop helper at my teenage.just to make sure i can survive. now i m 37, i can affort my gunpla, but still pla it carefully with my…[Read more]
Please do me a favor… eat your lunch. With good healthy body, and your study well will get your a good job, pay well. THEN…you start buying your model kit, THEN that scale modeling will become your hobby (it might be long term hobby or it might not. Certain age think differently…believe me, I know.)
Actually who doesn’t saving allowance to buy models? I did before. I got huge collection of Gundam but I got no money to feed my stomach. Thank god that is 4 years ago.
Don’t get me wrong. You should feel lucky you didn’t have some of them who buy so many models but got no money to enjoy other things surround them. Select wisely what you want to…[Read more]
Is this group slowly turning into modelers anonymous? 😛
But you do raise a valid point where money can be used on more important things (like food and shelter 😛 ) if you just have a bit of self restraint every now and then.
Maybe I not very good expressing in words… sorry. What I actually want to tell Gianpla is don’t starve because of hobby, is foolish to do so. I cannot make people change their mindset to believe me, but I been there….(yes, I hope I could make him eat his lunch… hahahaha~)
kuroneko, thanks for sharing your story 😀 i understand you but me i started collecting gunplas 2008 until now i cant stop collecting those thing i know for you models are just small part of life but for me i will sacrifice for gunpla, if i will be rich i will buy tons of gunpla but if i will be just an ordinary person i will spent first my money…[Read more]
You are still young… when I was like your age, I want to have every single box of Gundam… When I reach 30s, I did almost every Gundam in my house…well my friends said is not a house, is a warehouse. Every month, you will never finish buying Gundam, and worst part is you will never build faster than the release of Gundam model kit.
i don’t say that i want to buy all gundams i just want to buy the cool ones like PGs and some MGs and you don’t understand my addiction, your correct but when i started collecting gunplas i can’t stop i can’t leave them just like their magnetting me nothing changed when i collected gunplas i still have onyl few real friends and i don’t want to…[Read more]
Why I said sooooo much about that… haiz…because you do look exactly like me when I was like your age. Now I got gastric illness, it been with me for more than 20-30 years…it will be forever with me.
It’s your life, you live with it. I won’t say anymore. I rest my case here, thank you…. 🙂
I would have a lot more Gunpla kits if it weren’t for New Zealand’s logical method of “lets charge $100 for a half decent No Grade kit and $130 for an average Master Grade!” (for a bit of an idea, it’s about 800 yen to 10 NZD at the moment). But now that I’ve started using HLJ, the only real issue is shipping… but even with shipping it’s cheaper…[Read more]
not really alone there Nick. Here in Canada, when you can find plamo locally, it’s always a dreadfull price. ie, the only local kit i’ve seen is legend command bb and store wanted $70 +tax (13% here) vs hlj’s 1600yen. so even 16.00+20 s/h +15 customs = $51, still 19 dollars saved.
HLJ generally works out cheapest indeed, even with the fedex shipping, and it generally arrives super-quick too. I have seen kits in Canada, but I don’t live near those stores any more, although I do remember the day they got their first PG kits in…. Was incredible to see them in the flesh, and it took a good 10 years before I could buy my own.
Same here in Australia. I can’t get kits locally, but any of the aussie sellers i see usually sell gundam way over RRP. Once i saw a SD kit that goes for about 900 yen on HLJ (about 10 to 11 bucks here) and it was selling for $30 (about 2500 to 2700 yen). 🙁
HLJ rocks!!
at least you have hobby shops around
here its imposible to get one and even its tool nippers and hobby knifes are a nightmare to get
the colors are super limited to work with and the dierama extras 3 trees for 3$ and thats a lot here
its really a nightmare for me
hobby shops are rare in the philippines but toys store like toys r us sell gunpla and tools for higher price sometimes i look for hobbyshops i see how more cheep is the price
