Actually who doesn’t saving allowance to buy models? I did before. I got huge collection of Gundam but I got no money to feed my stomach. Thank god that is 4 years ago.

Don’t get me wrong. You should feel lucky you didn’t have some of them who buy so many models but got no money to enjoy other things surround them. Select wisely what you want to work with it, especially when you said price is the main issue in your country. Then maybe try to doing some scratch building then, upgrade your skill, everyone can do it, you can too.

There is no point keep buying models where every months there are many release. Maybe I can share with you my story. My collection of unbuild gunpla kit 4 years ago. I so crazy to build 8x Zaku II ver.2, 8x Dom, and the rest of MG, mostly x2 or x3 each. I bought half carton of SD zaku II (36 pieces), but does that make me proud? No. It only bring loneliness, and no money to feed myself every end month, no money to pay for my bill. If you want your life like this, you can go ahead be one. There are many out there just like me…keep buying, never ending stories.

What I try to say, build what you have. I try to cut my stash now too, and decided to move into ship models. Because ship model (1/350) took at least 6 months to complete 1. That give me more money for future use. And lastly, if I offended anyone, sorry but maybe you just not in my stage to see model is just a small part of life, not entire life, don’t throw all your money into one where you can actually have many others.

    • Is this group slowly turning into modelers anonymous? 😛
But you do raise a valid point where money can be used on more important things (like food and shelter 😛 ) if you just have a bit of self restraint every now and then.

    • kuroneko, thanks for sharing your story 😀 i understand you but me i started collecting gunplas 2008 until now i cant stop collecting those thing i know for you models are just small part of life but for me i will sacrifice for gunpla, if i will be rich i will buy tons of gunpla but if i will be just an ordinary person i will spent first my money for my daily needs

      • You are still young… when I was like your age, I want to have every single box of Gundam… When I reach 30s, I did almost every Gundam in my house…well my friends said is not a house, is a warehouse. Every month, you will never finish buying Gundam, and worst part is you will never build faster than the release of Gundam model kit.

When you get rich, you will think differently. You will think to buy other things and it will not be this. Once my friend told me “You got no life, your life had been taken by your scale model.” My social circle is so damn small because Gundam was my friend, but are they? no, of course not. Now I’m 40s, what is more important in life? Family and friends. You still young, one day you will understand why I told you this hobby is not your everything…there is more thing out there waiting for you. 🙂

        • i don’t say that i want to buy all gundams i just want to buy the cool ones like PGs and some MGs and you don’t understand my addiction, your correct but when i started collecting gunplas i can’t stop i can’t leave them just like their magnetting me nothing changed when i collected gunplas i still have onyl few real friends and i don’t want to have a family i can replace them with gunpla its better to collect than having a family, but maybe gunpla will also take my life i will never stop collecting those 🙂

          • Why I said sooooo much about that… haiz…because you do look exactly like me when I was like your age. Now I got gastric illness, it been with me for more than 20-30 years…it will be forever with me.

It’s your life, you live with it. I won’t say anymore. I rest my case here, thank you…. 🙂
