Turns out I CAN’T use the Sazabi ver ka I won as a prize last time as a base for my entry, so guess who’s just ordered another one XD
Hey at least I’ll get the premium decals with this one.
Q. Can I enter with a kit that I didn’t purchase from HLJ?
A. You can use a kit that was not purchased through hlj.com, however, you will need a customer account in order to submit your final entry and receive any prizes should you win.
Clear as day in Their FAQ’s below the General Rules

I think they should be OK (would count them as details) but you might try msg Syd or Todd (you can find his name in member list of this group. He is either first or 2nd). Im going to use some precision machined sockets parts in my build and like hell HLJ is selling those ^^
I am not associated with Hobby Link Japan. Although the rules state that any kit can be used to enter and win the contest, you will only be able to receive prizes if you had purchased the kit from hobby link Japan. They may ask you to provide proof of purchase before you can receive prizes.
if you enter in beginner and they think you belong in intermediate, they’ll move you to intermediate, happened to me last time, I got bumped to advanced and came 2nd 😛

Can I just get some clarification, does the kit HAVE to have been bought off HLJ?
the rules say that
“Entries can be made using any combination of any model kits which were/are available for purchase on hlj.com”
but also
“Prize winners may be asked to prove the entry was originally purchased from hlj.com”
“The rules have been clarified to state clearly that the kit can be purchased from somewhere other than HLJ.com however you will need a customer account at HLJ.com in order to submit your final order and claim any prizes.”
After all this work do you think you’ll do it a second time for the Banshee? I’m just imagining them standing next to each other phasing through colours at the same time
Finally have time to work on my PG unicorn.
removed the ball joints for the verniers and cut holes to accept IC sockets. The hole in the verniers was a little too big to take the 3mm led directly, but a piece of styrene tubing made them fit perfectly.
I’ll be gluing the IC sockets in place with some UV curing glue later.
Good luck!
Thanks to this competition I’m finally starting a project that I have planed few years ago 😉
