Other than that. I’m loving all of the work everyone is putting into the hobby. Keep it up!

Beginner Modeler – Modeling Competition 2017 4 years ago
I’m concerned a bit. I’m not sure on the rulings but based on the description of the group, I’m seeing projects that belong in the Intermediate category. This mostly pertains to painting the entire kit, either airbrush or hand painting. I’m not trying to bash the works or anything. I just feel like they should be in the Intermediate category.

Exactly! I thought I’m the only one who thought of this. I’ve seen projects where it belongs to intermediate and even advanced probably. But on the other hand, HLJ staffs have the rights to either promote/demote contestants. So I’m just hoping that the staffs had an objective view regarding which entry belongs to beginner, intermediate or…[Read more]

WIPs, i think (not sure though), are allowed to be posted in all category groups. But have to choose only one category in their final output.

You’re actually doing fine time wise, unless you mean building progress wise. The contest ends April 30th.

This would most likely go into the Intermediate category. Beginner category is all about keeping it clean. Painting is Intermediate’s thing.

I made that post before the rules clarification

I am not associated with Hobby Link Japan. Although the rules state that any kit can be used to enter and win the contest, you will only be able to receive prizes if you had purchased the kit from hobby link Japan. They may ask you to provide proof of purchase before you can receive prizes.

Just a reminder everyone, please do not post any pictures of your projects outside of these contest groups. It is against the rules to do so. After the contest is finished on April 30th, you may do what you like with your entry.

You may enter any kits that are sold or were sold on HLJ.
-
I mean resin addon kits. I have the base kit I got from HLJ ages ago,
-
I think they should be OK (would count them as details) but you might try msg Syd or Todd (you can find his name in member list of this group. He is either first or 2nd). Im going to use some precision machined sockets parts in my build and like hell HLJ is selling those ^^

The kit does not have to be bought from HLJ in order to enter. However if you win you will not be able to accept prizes unless the kit was purchased from HLJ. You would have only won the title.

The “Basic Rules” on the contest’s page does not mention projects in progress, only that you provide 4 WIP images throughout the contest. However it would be against the spirit of the contest to post a finished build that you already had pictures of that was done before the contest was announced. We should wait on an official ruling before anyone…[Read more]

If you are interested in the prizes, you must purchase the kit from HLJ. Otherwise you can only win the title.

are you actually associated withH LJ or is this just your interpretation?
