with the recent release of the Gernsback from Aoshima…. I wanna see Bandai do the Gernsbacks from the anime series: Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid….. but better…
update on the old kit – having a win with the restoration but cutting the windows is very sloppy. I’ve tried dremel drills, scalpels, and sharpened screw drivers with no luck….
not so much a build but more an attempt at a restoration/resurrection of a kit made back in 1987. gunna ditch the fibre optics and the awful silver paint
yup its an old AMT kit. I’ve ripped out all the optics and having a go at making some replacement decals. the old halogen bulbs are definitely going in the bin, i have no idea how they didnt melt the kit or burn a house down. trying to drill out the windows but they are tiny, narrow and im only getting about 10 window to a snapped drill bit at…[Read more]
its not bandai or even japan related but i have come across some old 90’s star trek and star wars kits, but the decals are munted. anyone got any ideas or sites i could try to get/make new ones?
cheers
the white gold highlights are hard to see with pictures too. i thought the kit was too garish with bright gold. also the blue tint silver on the piping and underframe doesnt really pop out in the photos…..ah well its been posted enough.
onto the next kit, cant say that im enthusiastic.
that was a fun build and i dont think there will be many…[Read more]
It is not that massive, but sure same in style. If you like complex mechanics in a build, you really should have a look at a HMM Zoid. The details of those Koto-kits always blow my mind.
the sinanju’s were sold out when i did my last order and the postage to Australia is horrendous. i was hoping for a re-release of the yamato 2199 kit but its been over a year and even with the new series nothings come up. maybe i can sneak another order when the missus is away. zoids are interesting but not really my thing but i have a bootleg…[Read more]
well got the hang of the airbrush now and my 3rd painted kit is finished. thinking i should have done this kit for the plamo comp but it’s not very original-
Really nice finish of one of the most awesome kits. With a Sazabi on the workbench you have to go all out. And people went crazy on it. It is still something that is not crossed ony todo list. I like your dark shiny interpretation of the red.
cheers guys. yup otaku its a ver ka (200+ fiddly decals)….. and it was over 50 spoons its just that i stopped counting after i used a whole pack.
trying to mix auto and hobby paints had some issues. clogged airbrush and some of the thinners for the top coat ate the test decals.
you cant really see the different reds so i’ll try for some outside…[Read more]
ive tried chrome and firefox. all the other functions like messages , friends and groups work just not the notifications area. i’ve got 15 unread notifications that i cant see. i’ve also enabled cookies and disabled tracking protection. no idea whats going on
well nearly done my 3rd painted kit and i wanted a shiny sazabi. thought about doing this kit for the plamo comp, but glossy sazabis are pretty common on the net so i tried something different………now for 200 friggin decals
well might as well post me pics that i submitted. anyone else that hasnt already posted their final stuff wanna give it a show?…. i like seeing how people make the most of…
We’re just anxious about who wins. I’m not holding my breath. I have a number of winners in mind. Given gunpla is the bread and butter, I’m guessing the gunpla entries will snag half of the awards. That’d be no surprise.
