Edit: @Syd & Ryan Amazing show as always guys been watching sins episode 5 or so and I’m still looking forward to each and every episode 🙂
@Syd I’m planning to customise a PG Red Frame one of these days do you have any tips for removing the gold coating leaving the silver/chrome behind ?
@Ryan your GPO1 looks awesome man. 😀
I’m still wonde…[Read more]
The Falcon will get done, one day 🙂 At this time the software we use does not offer the ability to edit, we hope that in one of the software updates they might offer it, but not sure when.
If you use paint thinner diluted with water you should be able to remove the clear yellow/orange (which is what the cold usually is) leaving the silver behind. To test the mix it’s a good idea to use a piece of the gold sprue and see the result before dropping in your part.
I dont think the Kshatriya in scale 1/60 would be awesome coz it would be too big..in 1/100 would be nice..I already build the 1/144 and it stand the same height as the Mk. II 1/100..I’ll vote for victory Gundam..but as my personal choice I would like a Sinanju PG
So as much as I’d like a 1/60 PG Kshatriya, being realistic, a 1/00 would be fine and a 1/144 RG (along with Unicorn, Sinanju and Banshee) would be almost as good.
If we use the 00 Raiser as a basis of comparison, PG is 10 times the size and weight of HG, and roughly 12 times the cost of HG. MG is roughly 2.5 times the size and weight of HG, and 3.25 times the cost of HG.
So if we assume the same relationships would hold for Kshatriya, a MG would cost roughly 14500 yen, weigh about 2kg – it would be about…[Read more]
The 1/144 Kshatriya is 15.5cm tall (according to the HLJ product page) which makes for a PG Kshatriya of 37.2cm tall. Scaling price of $36 up (it’s a volume scale as that’s proportional to weight, which gives us 2.4 cubed) a factor of 13.8 – a near enough $500 kit.
Doing the same math on a 1/100 we get it being a more reasonable 22.32cm tall and…[Read more]
First, HLJ’s product page is probably wrong in this case. (I only say “probably” because there may be some meaningful part of the HGUC Kshatriya you could measure to and get 15.5cm… Based on photos at Dalong, in comparison shots with the MG Gundam it could be about 15.5cm tall, but only if you don’t count the binders and head crest. But…[Read more]
I think you’re right that the reported height is of the mech itself soles to top of head. That said, PG SF is just under 30cm tall until you spread out the wings, and then it can easily reach 50cm. So yes, the whole kit could be as big as you suggest when you take a pose with the binders in their cool pose.
Actually, that 50cm tall x 50cm wide was for the binders in their “relatively boring” pose – just kind of upright, dangling to the sides of the MS. In this pose the Kshatriya has kind of a square profile – about as wide as it is tall.
Pose the binders outward, and it would probably be almost a full meter wide…
As for design cost – that’s not…[Read more]
So significantly more impressive than PG SF – no wonder people say they’d want a PG KS.
Yup, parts themselves are essentially an area-scale because they’re mostly flat, rather than a full volume scale up. The actual factor is probably somewhere between area and volume (squared and cubed).
Tetsujin, you’ve found your match on this one. 😀 I agree on Kshathriya. The suit itself is as tall as a Sinanju. Minus the bunders, head hight comparison. So an actual MG would be all that much taller than a The-O or above mentioned Sinanju, add the binders on their “normal” pose and you’re 10cm taller than a Sinanju. Compare a Sinanju with a…[Read more]
that’s a lot of theory and math. a much simpler way is just to think about how tall the suit is supposed to be. if Kshatriya’s info on the gundam wiki and mahq is right then from his foot to his head is 22.3 meters to get to 1/60 scale you just divide by 60 and you get that he should stand at just over 37 cm so without binders he’s already 7 cm…[Read more]
The same applies though to PG SF – with wings out it’s vastly larger than the ~30cm of the mech. The KS with binders out would be vastly larger than the mech too.
Although the size would make it impractical for many to display, probably the bigger issue is the material strength for it to hold a pose with the binders and not collapse under it’s…[Read more]
But unlike SF, you don’t even have to do anything with the binders (apart from attaching them) to get significantly bigger than 37cm high. Just a regular standing pose with the binders attached would be 50cm tall and 50cm wide. That’s why I say starting from head height and calculating that 37cm size isn’t a useful gauge of a PG Kshatriya’s…[Read more]
well I was just saying that he is already 37 without the binders and ofcourse with them he’s even bigger but there’s no official measurement that I’m aware of for the binder’s , the point was that even without them he’s 7 cm taller than the biggest PG and 7cm may not seem like much but that’s more than the difference in head heights between HG…[Read more]
Just to be daft we could always ask for a PG Meteor unit to go with the PG Strike Freedom 🙂 – can you imagine how big those beams would be on the front of it!
Yes yes it was, but well that was adding legs to a suit that was as big as a normal MS without them so it really couldn’t be smaller considering his legs are pretty close to his height before adding them to him.
nice job on both your guys kits .and to awnser a question i build a votom and i was really surprised on how detailed it was with the detail from the anime for a no scale.and its great. and cant wait to see ur paint detail.
and i’m with you Ryan, go the Kshatriya PG. I’ve been building gundam for years and i would pay top dollar to have that monster displayed at my place. 🙂
Go team Syd!! I couldn’t agree more about his reaction and thoughts about a PG Kshatriya, Especially when they don’t even have a solution about how to do the MG efficiently. Fortunately the hobby comes with people and their “wishlists”. On the other hand the Victory Gundam Would be a really fun build and a great kit to get people into the world of…[Read more]
well I agree that the victory is a better choice for a PG, the Kshatriya is just too big. I don’t however agree with that thought about it not being much plastic. The victory is a smaller suit but it’s a transforming combining suit so it’s gonna have lots of mechanism and moving parts and such. and if they do something like what they did with…[Read more]
I was comparing the Victory with the Kshatriya. PG’s of course stretch out the plastic but its one of the smallest Gundams as well, and will clearly use less plastic then other PG’s.
As for a RG Dendrobium I think Bandai will just do what they did with the METEOR’s from Seed. just release the old Dendrobium unit with RG style decals and have a…[Read more]
RG Kshathriya is one simple guy and should look FANTASTIC as an RG. Hell, I don’t like RG’s and I’d rather have that than a HG kit of it. I know MG’s not gonna come any time soon, if ever.
I love the RG line myself. But as for the MG its not out of the question. Its just Bandai has said they cant make it due to the cost of the frame, which would have to be made out of metal to keep it stable.PG Unicorn apparently was not worth the risk either.
Dammit…. I need to be banned from these sites. I just went, saw, conquered. Could not bear to pay EMS this time so I choose SAL for once. Got this and also the RG Destiny Deactive Mode… total damage Y8,381… someone lock up my wallet!!
@philliptan, Bro, I have a suggestion, why dont you let your wife keep your wallet? Or let your wife reconfigure your internet to block HLJ’s website and tell her to never give you the password,. I think that it’ll work,. LOL! XD
@Beldin Ben, I knew abt the site from one of the earlier episodes of Gunpla TV when @Syd mentioned genteikits and I searched around using combinations of words that sounds like GEN-TEH-KITS, before i settled on the correct spelling of genteikits.com
You know me too well @philliptan! Had a co-worker choose between this and the MG RX-78-2 parts or RG Destiny Deactive and she said this one looked too cool to pass up.
Though I do wish they had more of the Char’s Z’Gok vs GM ver GFT. That looked sweet too!
Nice job on the PG Ryan! As for choice of Ma K, I say Nutcracker. How can you go wrong with a kit that has that name? Lol! As for Ryan vs Syd on the PG front, I would vote for the Victory Gundam.
My suggestion is for the Camel, an odd name since it looks like an insectoid.
I’m gonna have to back Ryan on this one. The Kshatriya as a PG would be an amazing thing the behold. However I cannot discredit the V Gundam either but I’d rather see a PG of the V2 Assault Buster :).
Great episode gentlemen, probably one of the best questions…[Read more]
