I’m probably going to be switching my intended entry. I have plenty of time to order or get my kit of choice, if the contest ends in April. While I enjoyed building *Name Withheld*, I could have done much better. I feel that doing the whole process in 24 hours made it rushed, plus the paint did not dry great. As such, I will continue working in…[Read more]
Panel lining proved tricky, and still working on battle scars. Will probably skip gloss or reflective paint, seems like a extra step that might overstep my skill level.
Snap build is done, now to do detailing. I have decided not to do waterslides, as it turns out I have none. I have some zoids stickers, but they are pretty chunky.
Now I’ve cleaned up and painted most of the white pieces! (The biggest runner, A, is drying after the first coat outside.) On the side in tupperware you can see the red…
Having taken all the Bluish pieces off the runners and filed 80% of the nubs completely off that I could see, I have painted the blue parts dark red. As they dried, they became faded somewhat! Now it looks like dried blood! Depending on how they dry, I may put a second coat on.
So, I present a question: If I was give a model a total makeover in color terms, use some spare decals, and do some panel lining, along with some weapon tinkering, which category should I go for? Here’s the mockup, made in about 20 minutes all told.
Doing some panel lining still goes into beginner category, total colour makeover… probablly depends, using some spare decals would probbably go somewhere in between depends tho, weapon tinkering depends on how far you tinker with it lol. Just my thought tho u can ask this to HLJ staff for a much reassuring and much reliable answer.
Give me a few days, I’m at University right now, but will be returning home (where my 35+ kits are waiting) this weekend for my mom’s birthday, and I’ll be taking them all to university with me when I return. I’d say saturday at the earliest for pics? Send me a message in a day or two to remind me if you could. In the meantime, plan schemes for…[Read more]
Hey, I can say that when I painted my Man Rodi I screwed up the colors. Forest Green on the limbs, not counting head, and the Body and Head about the color of a sunflower, only brighter. Also the limbs came out grainy, and the rest has.. small fingerprints and the coat is super thick. I named it the “Mon” Rodi and then realized there was no red…[Read more]
Hey all, I’m debating what style to do. I don’t think I have time to order a kit from Hobby Link, as it usually takes 4-6 weeks, and I don’t think I can afford an expedited or…
