Hi! I have a question regarding of MG Gundam Exia reg ver. and I’m currently building it, and I have a problem on it’s hatch, it won’t stay closed, can you suggest something so that I can solve this matter? Thank you.

    • As I don’t have the model itself and not exactly sure what the reg ver. is, I’ve looked at the instruction manual for the MG Exia Repair and my guess is that maybe the innerframe part of the cockpit hatch isn’t “clicked” in all the way. In the manual it states that you should get a sound when it clicks into place.
Another thing that I can see from…[Read more]

    Hey guys and gals…

Got a question…how do you all paint your min pilot…figs that go into the gundam…?

    • I cut down a bamboo skewer or toothpick to a fine point then use that to paint details (I use humbrol enamels but any paint would work). This works well for 1/100 and 1/60 but is a little rough for a 1/144 figure.

    • I myself use a very small brush. I first paint the lowest detail on the figure and the work my way up. For example, if the pilot wears a jacket over a t-shirt, I first start with the t-shirt, then the jacket. When doing the jacket, hold the stem of the brush perpendicular to the edge of the jacket. This way the brushes won’t paint over the edges,…[Read more]

Does anyone know which issue of Hobby Japan this is from? I’m trying to find all of the magazines that show Build Fighters Honoo modified kits.
    • I’m not sure which magazine that image is from but the custom set is included in the upcoming October(?) Hobby Japan magazine.

    ok two questions
    1. i just got a beargguy (SO ADORABLE TTTTTTT) well i want to paint it into the 1989 batman and i got everything painted except i have no clue how to do the…

    • it has a little transparency but opaque for the most part. looks like fluorescent orange paint to me. or it could just be a heavy coating of clear orange with flat coat. i don’t see any traces of a silver coat underneath though.

    • On the Batman symbol, I would take a big piece of masking tape and draw the symbol on it, cut it out, place it on the chest and then use paint to either brush or spray it in.

With the Banshee, the Psycho Frame looks to be a Orange Yellow (Mr.Hobby # C58). If you like it to be, you could mix it with some fluorescent paint to get it to light up…[Read more]

    • thx i tried that idea @teetee580 but the problem is that the symbol is so very tiny that its impossible to do ive tried it a good solid 7 times (yes i counted)
thanks for giving me an idea for the banshee daverb and teetee i wasnt too sure but my problem is that my hobby shop doesnt sell mr color they only sell tamiya so i dont think the…[Read more]

    • That’s indeed a lot of times. I guess liquid masking is out of the question too. The only way I can think of now is getting a waterslide for the symbol. I don’t know if you have a printer, so you could give it a go yourself. Or you could contact Samuel for some costume ones.
Yes, if Tamiya paints are your only option then a fluorescent mix is out…[Read more]

    • yea but idk how tamiya clear over silver leaf looks though ill give it a try thanks 🙂

    • You’re welcome of course. I don’t know either, when putting a clear yellow on top of a silver, it gives a goldish effect, never tried it with orange. Think I’ll try it myself too. Anyways, good luck with your projects!

Hey tech support, I’m not sure if this is on the desktop website but on mobile I’m seeing 2 seperate “like” buttons in the activity feed.
As well as that, on mobile I’m not seeing a “log in” button on the home page, just the “create account” button.

Other than this, the updates are looking great.

  • So, I’m throwing this out there just as I’m hoping for it dearly, please don’t hate me for asking about something related to Seed.
Since there is a HG Revive Freedom on it’s way, anyone think it’ll rub off to a new MG Freedom 2.0/RM?

    • I can see that happening, they’re also releasing a robot Damashii Freedom and Justice soon so those two are definitely on Bandai’s mind. I hope we’ll see a new MG of each soon.

    • There’s nothing wrong with liking Seed, i know there were major faults in the storyline alone and the characters seems to be a bit questionable but heck the mechs from that series are one of my favorites.

Another this i wish they make is MG of of the Meteor Unit for either Freedom or Justice. I know they came one on HG version, but i want MG!

    • Even though I think original MG Freedom is great as it is. I’m all for RM Version, only if that mean’s we’ll get MG Justice as well. Oh and I want MG Forbidden, Calamity and Raider Gundams too.

      • Yes, the original MG Freedom looks fine, apart from some design flaws, IMO, like the all joints for the hips and stickers for the beam riffle…
And I have to concur, a MG Forbidden, Calamity and Raider would be awesome. Being on the subject, how about a MG GINN, BuCue, Skygrasper and Mebius Zero?
But a Meteor Unit in MG form…? If I have to be…[Read more]

        • I’d love it if they made a MG GINN and the Waltfeld LaGowe and a BuCue. The Skygrasper would also be awesome if it could hook up with the striker packs

I agree that the METEOR units are huge, and probably costly but if enough interest is there, Bandai would probably make one, after all it is still a business for them.

          • Yes, I can’t understand why Bandai didn’t made a Sky Grasper with the release of the Strike Gundam RM. And release it with the Sword and Striker Pack like they did with the RG. I guess selling the packs as a P-Bandai exclusive brings them more money???
Also, nobody would have ever guessed they’d do a Neo Zeong, but they did. So maybe we would be…[Read more]

            • I really don’t think P-Bandai Items would really make that much profit for Bandai. They’re not really that expensive compared to where the original kits they’re based from plus they’re only limited run. The people who really benefit from them are the shops in Ebay or other online shops who sell them for twice the original price.

              The Neo-Zeong is…[Read more]

    • Yeah, that’s what I meant, selling the Packs as a normal release would make them more money. I guess that’s their controversial way of thinking…
I’m not too sure about using the older Packs on the RM. I believe there is a difference in the mounting parts on the shoulders, but have to check some reviews to be sure.
As I’m holding back from…[Read more]

    • I think I rather have a MG Saviour then a 2.0 Freedom. Unfortunately it’s not nearly as popular so Freedom seems way more likely. I wouldn’t mind though with a MG Justice too hopefully!

      • I agree with you that there are too much suits that deserve a MG but didn’t get one. A MG Saviour would be very nice, let alone a MG Justice. Still can’t believe why they didn’t made one at the time. But maybe we get lucky

      • How about some of the badguy mechs, in MG form? the Providence from Seed, Virsago from DX. Reborn from 00, etc.

Another on is a MG Akatsuki from Seed Destiny, only because i want to put it beside the Hyaku Shiki V2

When will hlj starts taking replacement parts order again? 🙂

    • don’t think this will happen anymore. from their email, bandai is setting up a online parts replacement system for those outside japan.

that’s why hlj and other places that did parts (genteikits etc) has stopped this service as well. that or it’s too much trouble (time and money) to be the middle man for it. they didn’t have to do it as the…[Read more]

      • @daverb , Thanks for sharing this mail with us! That would be awesome if Bandai will finally do this!
And how cool of you to write them an email. How did you get the email address if I may ask?
Sorry, I’m just curious as a cat 😉

        • i found the email address and instructions here:

but i guess it only worked back then and they even covered the replacement under the customer’s responsibility (in short, even if you broke it). it seems they’ve stopped and so i got that reply from them after a week or so. i was so bummed…

In France we are a lot of Gunpla fans and it’s been years we’re relying on personal friends in Japan to get replacement parts. Each time we are sorry to disturb them with this so when I saw your topic I was like “YEAH FINALLY!”, then I watched the video and saw the email sample and was…[Read more]

    • im just gunna throw this out there but on ebay theres a guy that sells certain gundam parts like astray, quebeley and other kits so you may want to check that guy out
also i know that gundamstoreandmore sell specific gundam parts too so if ur lucky and they have that one it might be good too

      • North America and Italy… Damn, Holland is out of the question then….
Ah well, maybe it’ll change in the future.
        Thanks for replying!

        • It’s been years that Bandai supports only Italy in Europe, that’s a shame and I don’t think it will change soon.
I know someone who was fed up with the GBWC contest rules and went on a trip to Italy to participate. He managed to apply his Gunpla but when the guys saw he wasn’t Italian they told him to get the f… out.

Hi, I’m new to this group, and I have a question, I have just finished my MG Build Strike Gundam Full Package, and recently my order just arrived, and it’s MG Universe Booster, as I looked in the manual, I just found out that I have to dissemble the Shield just to make it the absorb shield, and my problem is how can I dissemble it properly? I…[Read more]

    • You have to pry it open, but really careful. This is normally done with a parts separator. But I take it you don’t have one.
You can use your knife and gently stick it between the parts. Don’t use a twisting motion, as it will damage the edges. If you hold the part horizontal the move the knife in an upward and downward movement.
      This way you’ll…[Read more]

      • Thank you so much, happy building too. ^_^

      • another thing is if you might want to trim the pegs a little bit so the next time you want to disassemble them its going to be a lot easier. I usually trim them 45deg from the top.

As for a part separator, I just went to my local kitchen utility shop and look for a small plastic knife
