Hey guys, this is my first post and i love Gundam/Pla and have been watching Syd and Ryan on the show for quite some time. I recently just got some extra cash and decided to purchase my very first gundam kit. I ordered the MG Hi Nu Ver Ka (not from HLJ) because I’m impatient and want to start building soon. Got myself a great hobby knife and pair of snippers but a friend told me I should also consider some form of sandpaper for the nub marks. To the point, my question is, is the sandpaper necessary or will I be fine with the knife and cutters? Sorry for such a nub question, thanks in advance for your replies. 😀

  It all depends on you. I’ve been building for a few years now and I’ve only found and paper necessary when painting as I often scuff the bars plastic when I use and paper. That said, lots of people will use and paper as a replacement to a hobby knife, as it is easy to gouge the plastic with one.
  I’d say find some sand paper cheap then compare while building which of them feels more comfortable.

    I may just stick to the knife and cutters for this one, because I love the white and purple and don’t intend on modding it. I’ll be sure to grab some though if I ever decide to paint a future kit.
