A New Ghibli Museum (Exhibit)

Toshio Suzuki is a movie producer of animated films and a long-time colleague of Hayao Miyazaki, as well as the former president of Studio Ghibli itself. And now you can find a unique museum involving his works in Kyoto! The “Toshio Suzuki and Studio Ghibli Exhibition” will be held at the Museum of Kyoto from April 23 (Sat) to June 19 (Sun), 2022.

This exhibit is unique because not only does it contain artwork and statues of some notable Ghibli works, it places a heavy emphasis on the words from within the film. These words are displayed as physical structures of their own throughout the museum – both as works of calligraphy and other mediums. A Studio Ghibli picture is both an artistic vision of sight and sound, after all.

Let us know if you see your favorite Ghibli movie represented in the preview pictures!
