Shin Getter 1 (D-Style) by Kotobukiya (Available From HobbyLink Japan – HLJ.com)
Shin Getter-1, piloted by Ryuma is now available from Kotobukiya D-style! See it all here, from unbox to the finished kit itself.
Cool cover art with some famous skills being shown off.
The box is the same as a regular High Grade, though much deeper.
More depth means more plastic, hence the price of 2800 JPY. But you can get 20% off at HLJ.com!
The side of the box shows some interesting neck mobility, and the hands ready for Stoner Sunshine.
Bright colors will pop right out at you when you open the box.
And you can see that the build itself looks pretty simple.
The official color guide shows off the main colors of red, white, purple and brown.
Here are the plates shown in alphabetical order.
Using just plastic nippers, you could finish this in as little as an hour.
And the results are pretty good from the front and back!
Good range for the limbs, despite the small size.
And you’ve got options, so let’s see what kind of poses are possible.
Official pose with the tomahawk held in hand.
With the help of the action base, even more poses are possible.
For some final thoughts. I think this may be the best D-style kit in recent years. As we know, D-style kits are a little more expensive than Bandai’s SD line, and also more complicated, though this sometimes means little problems here and there. But with this kit, I feel hard pressed to find some negatives! It’s simple, cool, detailed and doesn’t fall apart. With just a short amount of building time, you can enjoy lots of great poses and recreating scenes from the anime. If you’re a fan of the series, I recommend you check this out!
