Thanks, man. And nope, I painted the visor freehand with a size 0 round brush, then touched up the edges where the green touches. I find that applying the touch-up paint in quick dabs instead of small strokes is way easier.
I’m amazed as well! Quick dabs should work really well for touch-ups, even if you use lacquer paints. This is judging by how thin such paint tends to dry. Tamiya acrylics are the same deal.
Haha, so I’m not the only one who thinks of Ninja Turtles. I don’t know if it’s due to the sharp points on the head, but the eyes remind me of a bug’s.
I had to look up what a Crysis 3 hunter looked like and I agree, it does look like them, haha. Hopefully it all looks good when put together with the rest of the kit.
Nope definitely not the only one, it very we’ll reminds me of them too. Really loving the extra detail on the horn and visor two,I’m assuming you had to mask the visor part off?

As promised, here is the head on mine. The eyes could have used more work, but it looks better from a bit farther way. Mind the blemishes on the finish too. Dust particles are nearly impossible to avoid in my room.
It does kinda remind me of Ninja Turtles. I’m liking the color scheme more and more. The eyes are pretty intriguing and different. I’ve seen something like that before, I just cannot think of where.

I happen to remember that song, along with the music videos and the in-depth look at the animatronics used for the Turtle suits. Looked like a cyborg control suit inside, haha.
I’m only a few colors away from a full-on Ninja Turtle Kampfer and I didn’t realize it during the color planning phase. Already got red and purple represented…
the guns can still rotate on the shoulder but, i’ve lost a tiny bit of arm articulation. they also clear the binders when rotating. thats what i’m really happy about.
Thanks, good sir. I think handpainting this thing will be the surprise of the year for me in terms of finished kits. I find dry-brushing to be pretty fulfilling so far, which is strange because it can actually take more work and more time. Mysteries of the hobby, haha.
Which is a shame. I still have yet to find an acrylic metallic that can be wet brushed to a good finish. Maybe Citadel stuff is the only option, haha. All of the vids show them looking really good even with wet brushing.
You and me both, man. I think the main suit should be done by the weekend, leaving only the weapons left. Since it’s getting slightly warmer, I might just airbrush the basecoat on the weapon binders. Way too big to handpaint with my size 4 brush, haha.
Thanks guys! Can’t wait to do some more with my airbrush. And I’ve actually done that one ace lol, honestly kinda of want to kitbash the gm chest with gundam parts to make a custom ground gundam but I probably won’t because I’d have to buy three kits to do what I want too.
I had not noticed it before you pointed it out but that’s where the black got rubbed off the oarnge putting the vents back in,thinking about taking my tamiya cotton swabs and the paint to touch it up,those vents are never coming back off I barely got them on as is.
I like that color you used and the mono-eye is very prominent, at least in that pic. It’s got that menacing look for sure. I suppose I should post up the head on mine soon too, haha.
I’m going to assemble a few of the frame pieces tonight, and tape off the horn and spikes for painting. Hopefully I’ll have enough extra rods to get the last remaining parts ready for paint.
Vallejo Model Color and Vallejo Game Color. Natural Steel and Chainmail Silver, respectively. I find dry-brushing them to yield a slightly better finish normal wet brushing.

Many thanks, good sir. Just doing as much as I can with what I got. It can be frustrating and stressful, but it’s very rewarding. Which reminds me: can’t wait to see what detail work you’ll put your KA. The pretty details on your recent MG Kampfer are still fresh in my head.
Sorry man, hopefully it was on good terms atleast. That sucks either way.
