Okay, feeling the need to be brutally honest at the moment. This is for everyone who’s got a Kampfer Amazing: I’m glad I’m overhauling this thing for the group build, because if I was building straight from the box, I would’ve probably thrown away the weapon binders simply for the piss–poor way the entire thruster pack assembly is connected. I…[Read more]
I haven’t came across that issue yet. I’m just getting the parts cut off and de-nubbed. I will say that I’m disappointed the kit doesn’t come with beam sabers. I mean, it used them in just the last episode. Why not include them? I’ll also say that I’m glad I’m replacing the binders. In the last episode I didn’t see the Kampfer once use the binders…[Read more]
How much of the Kampfer Amazing is recycled from the HGUC Kampfer? If Bandai went the cheap route, that would explain why the binders and/or backpack don’t want to stay mounted.
I’d say a good, 80-85%. If not more. The arms, shoulders, and backpack cover are new. The piping mounts on each side are new. And the front portion of the legs are new.
Yeah, that’s what I’m referring to. the polycaps the binders mount to are the only thing that go onto it, and then it’s supposed to mount to the back on the same mounts the original thrusters did. It holds fine until you attach the actual weapons pack, at which point the fit is so snug that when you position the packs, the polycaps want to move…[Read more]
I actually haven’t mounted the binders on mine yet, but you’ve gotten me curious. I’ll give it a try tonight and see how mine behaves. Still not sure how I’ll feel about it if the issue happens to mine.
In terms of gripes, I didn’t like the back part of the head. It hugs the torso so much that moving the head means instant scratches to a…[Read more]
Thanks, Bossguy! I was originally going to go with a predominantly red scheme, but after seeing how a lot of the armor components overlap on the K.A., I realized it lends itself really well to a two-tone one.
Yeah, the part thing is really irking me. All the commercials attached to build fighter tout the versatility of the booster packs, but it…[Read more]
Small update on the KA build. I wanted to integrate parts from the Zaku Amazing booster, but aside from the missile pod/knife holster attachment, everything is just a hair to big to fit onto the kit where I want, so it’s either back to the drawing board, or I cast and modify some pieces so that they fit. I also started painting some parts of the…[Read more]

Yeah, the Amazing Booster takes some work to attach its parts to the KA. Kinda jealous that you’ve already started to paint yours. I just primed mine this past weekend and I have to re-prime several pieces today after fixing issues.
Interesting color scheme. Can’t to see some more. I actually started on mine this past weekend. I got the head modification all ready and was able to get the entire chest and waist sections de-nubbed.
The episode was amazing. My friends have been pestering me to cosplay a Renato brother for a convention in March, and thanks to that episode, I committed to the group and I’m actually going to paint my K9 in the stock colors when it arrives, because it has earned the right to be represented in its intended glory.
Awesome news! You might want to reconsider the binder thing though. While they may be fancy weapons cases, there is an opening at the top of the case that allows clearance for the barrel, and the vents at the back imply that the binders can fire the rifles from that position. Since the manual makes a point to store the extra barrels inside when…[Read more]
I had considered welding them together. But I do plan on keeping a barrel inside of them. They’ll still be painted along with the other weapons, they just won’t be mounted the Kampfer. Unless I put them on the legs.
Blargh. I was making posts earlier that were showing on my end despite getting Database errors, and then it just zonked out on me. Saw an awful of lot of spambot posts before it went down, though.

Dammit, it’s going to be a while before I get mine. I ordered through AmiAmi, and while it IS in stock, I use their “combine monthly orders” option to save on shipping, so I have to wait for the Figma Mikasa Ackerman I ordered to become available before I can ship >_<
Hey guys, are there any places that still sell individual parts for kits? One of my roommate’s cats may have run off with the a hip plate for my GM Sniper II, and I’m hoping to avoid having to cast a replacement.
In other news, I wound doing a quickie custom repaint just to have a change of pace on projects 🙂
