Here some work on the good old 1.0 Mg Gouf, already prime most of the armor and some extra parts, weather has not help these last days ,raining all day long 🙁 , today maybe…
I’m getting errors too. Main admin mentioned some work being done this weekend, along with the earlier notice about how things will be rocky while said work is conducted. Hopefully it will be a quickie.
Also, Sazabee, your account on GE has been active since January 21st. Any account you’ve tried to register afterwards that share that ip would have been rejected.
Painted a few more parts last night. I got home late and didn’t have much time but I got the gold parts painted and I painted the thrusters with a gloss black base coat. Tonight I’m hoping to get a layer of Future onto the gold parts and possibly the frame parts as well. Might paint the 100% black parts while I’m at it.
Seems to be a surprisingly good metallic paint, pain to clean out of the airbrush though, or if the mix just a smidge too thick and having to give a quick blast into the exhaust fan.
Left my Kampfer and paint supplies at my friends place (whoops), so I snapped this together last night instead. It’s going to become Kirara’s, so I left the booster pack off.
1: I was able to get the frame parts of the Banshee Norn painted up. I used German Grey for the frame parts, on the 1.0 version I used a Gunmetalish paint. It really made the kit to dark in my opinion. So this time I went with German Grey, it’ll retain the dark scheme of the kit without making it, to dark.
I’ve been a fan of German Grey since I painted my MG Kampfer with it. It’s great stuff. And I think it’ll really give the Banshee a good look and feel. Better than my 1.0 version anyways.
And yeah, only time will tell. But hopefully this time it actually works.
If you look at the plate with all the Armed Armor DE parts. You’ll notice a long gray piece with a peg on each end. That part, is what the Unit 3 Phenex HG used to mount the twin DEs onto it’s backpack.
No kidding? That’s convenient. Especially since I’m going to pass on the Phenex; too expensive, and the gold plastic is ugly.
Speaking of gold, I might…MIGHT…paint the Norn’s “crown” with Gundam marker. Should be easy enough; I dig the orange look, but the gold might look a bit better.
Of course, this is all just idle speculation. The Norn…[Read more]
With the clear coat completed on the Zabanya, it was time to return to the second of my three HG projects I started before the KA. I originally planned on using the Koto…
Haha, actually, I haven’t painted this kit yet. This is the one I’m planning to try digital camo on. A bit more fixes on welds and then I can prime by the weekend.
Thanks, man! The rifle is pretty light, only slightly heavier than the standard rifle. It helps a ton that the GM Sniper II’s arms have solid joints. The only thing that may sag is the ball-joint for the trigger hand, but some primer and paint can fix that easily.
I cut out the handle/stock from standard rifle (since it’s the key for having it usable without issue with the kit), fused it to the Gelgoog rifle you can build with the 1/144 System Weapon 002 set with the handle/trigger sawed off, then sawed off the front barrel portion of the Gelgoog rifle and fused in the barrel from a System Weapon 001 Zaku…[Read more]
Thank you, good sir. I honestly think this rifle is one of my rare strokes of genius so I’m really proud of it and how it came out. Hopefully the transitioning area I made with Apoxie Sculpt between the handle and receiver comes out good when I prime.
The tiny trigger area was a b*tch, though. Had to fix the area three times before settling on…[Read more]
I guess that’s the magic of a bright photo, haha. That and this place doesn’t allow for anything higher-res without external links. I’m going attempt the digital camo on a spoon first and make sure I got the methods down. I’m switch to all lacquer paints on this so any screw-ups will take more time to fix.
So my Birthday was on Friday and the whole weekend became one long celebratory affair. The highlight though was Saturday morning, when my roommates took me to the local anime store (Wiz knows which one :P) and told me to go crazy until I hit the my allotted spending amount. So my backlog has grown (again) XD
Beer is a vital mainstay and called “Talent Juice” in the circles I mingle with XD And yes, they rule. I think one though is riding the euphoric high of her recent promotion and that’s why this wound up happening. Not that I’m complaining, lol XD
Yeah, although most of them are familiar territory for me. I already helped build an HG Sengoku for a friend, I actually still own my MSiA Sazabi, and the Spiegel is only unique in a cosmetic sense, since all the Fighting Action MG’s share the same internal skeleton. The only one that’s really “new” is the Geara Zulu, which I look forward to…[Read more]
Yeah, BanDai was really kind to the G-Gundam fans early by giving us 4 of the most important kits in MG form, but it would be great if they’d give the other Shuffle alliance members some needed HG love on the 1/144 scale, or at the very least make a 1/100 Rising Gundam since it already shares many of the parts with the MG Shining >.>
So over the weekend I was able to finish up de-nubbing the framework parts to the Banshee Norn. So it’s finally time to start painting. So far I have all the frame parts, all the Armed Armor DE parts, the entire backpack + Armed Armor XC, the entire waist section, parts of the chest and feet, and the entire head.
The head will most likely be completed 1st. But we’ll just have to wait and see what get’s done 1st.
It would also seem that I might be doing a favor for a friend of mine while I paint the Norn. We’ll see tomorrow as a few friends and I are making a trip to HobbyTown.
I bought the HGUC Norn Destroy Mode because of you. Should be arriving any day now…and I’ve got the head base to build, too. Dunno if I’m going to paint them, as they do look kinda cool by default, even if they’re not 100% “screen accurate” that way.
Yeah that is my goal with the Unicorn Mode. Make it as close to screen accurate as possible. The Destroy Mode on the other hand, will be a bit more personalized.
I’m currently watching Gundam Wing and G Gundam. I’m not sure how I feel about Wing yet. I’ll have to watch more episodes in order to make my decision. However, I am loving G Gundam. It’s so different from your average Gundam show that I almost can’t treat it as such.
Nope. I’ve been staying pretty much within U.C. I was staying away from Wing because of the things I’ve heard about it. Thought I’d give it a try since I ran out of things to watch.
Ignore the haters. It has its flaws, but it’s a very good show, and still my favorite. Like many others, it got me into Gundam, and when I rewatched it two years ago (first time since 2000!), I still loved it.
I don’t hate Wing, but it is the absolute worst Gundam series ever made. People in the West tend to give it a pass for its flaws because it introduced them to Gundam. It has some great moments on rare occasion, but overall it’s pretty meh. It’s kind of like Star Trek Enterprise in that way.
Flawed as it is, I’d still rather watch Wing than 90%…[Read more]
Forgot to mention it, since it should go without saying, but G Gundam is freaking awesome. I don’t know where you are in the story yet, but once it gets to about episode 10 or so, it’ll really kick into high gear.
Everyone has their own opinions. Me personally, i think G gundam is a POS, it’s not even a real gundam show. They should have just used the concept and made a Super robot show instead. Gundam is about war, not guys in leotards fighting in a tournament.
Enterprise is VASTLY underrated. A lot of people have been rediscovering that show since the Blu-ray sets came out, and kicking themselves for either missing it or trashing it in the first place. 😉
I actually like Enterprise a lot more than Voyager. All Star Trek and Gundam series are good to some degree (although that cannot be said for every episode). It’s just a matter of degree. Zeta and DS9 are simply the pinnacles of their respective franchises and so they naturally make the other entries in their franchises look worse than they…[Read more]
After watching Wing a second time, I actually liked more than I though I did. I does have its flaws (bland heroes, over-powered MS’s, not a lot of ace pilots), but for what it’s worth it is a decent gateway Gundam series.
Being the first Gundam series I ever watched is the only reason I’m not writing it out completely from memory, haha. I don’t have interest in watching the whole series again, but I’m more than willing to watch Endless Waltz despite the impractical WZC taking center stage.
Was G Gundam that one where they have fights like a tournament, or was it before Zeta Gundam, I don’tremember now, I have watched a few series back to back.
Ahhh Database Error, fancy meeting you again… so soon.. haha.

What’s up my fellow gundam maniacs. Nice to be signed-in again and share an update with…
haha yeah totally busy with all of the extra equipment! I actually thought of getting another shield armor during the time I purchased the haul. But I decided to save it for the Full Armor. But yeah, I’m definitely stoked for the redux project. I’ve learned so much since then. And now with an airbrush in hand, I can refine it.
