Cockpit fun!
Okay, the seat is in and the controls are set to what I’m hoping to reflect on the control surfaces. Sorry about the poor pic quality 🙁 Now to lock all the detail away where it can’t be seen without a dental tool. Ha! View
The wheels were repainted and resealed. Didn’t mask them. So oversprayed. I did over-flat the tires to the point it whited out a bit, so I semi-glossed them. Think about it. It’s carrier-based. So water is unavoidable. Even the carrier deck is watery sometimes.
The canopy was repainted cuz the blue didn’t match the…[Read more]
Rigged the wires for the LED, doing some last minute paint touchups (mostly to the metallic details and a couple of parts that scratched during reassembly) and then the base…
Its rusting right now. The Tokyo watch says, I am just 7 hours behind. So tomorrow at 5pm is the final blow. But I think, I can enter it today. Those were some long days and nights during the past 2weeks…
All done. An A6M2b from the carrier Zuikaku in 1941. Early war so only lightly weathered. Folded the wing tips up and posed the control surfaces to match…
Now I know where this kit got its name from, Sa-HEL-anthropus, because let me tell you: This is one awesome looking kit, but it is a HELL to pose without parts or the entire…
Nowhere it’s states in the rules you cannot submit new/better photos for your entry… maybe I should submit my entry again, explaining I want to use the newly attaches photographs… but I don’t want to get disqualified if this is not allowed.

Painting my base tonight, everything else was finished the past two nights. I just couldn’t get the base to look like I wanted so it’s probably just going to be simply painted…
I posted a while back, but I guess my photos were never uploaded? Anyway I was able to finish the kit I started back in January. It’s been a pain to even find the time to upload pictures, but since I’ve finished the kit i’ll be uploading all of my progress as well as the completed kit.
Frantically trying to finish! 3D printed parts came in, and in the meanwhile I was painting the main parts.
Right now my main hurdle is to do finishing on most of the 3d printed parts before painting, since they come a little rough from the 3d printing service.
Looks amazing.
It’s always incredible to see the amount of payload the SU can carry.
Ace work!
Love the thousands of details and colorshadings.
Hrhr and give them wheels some drybrush with a neutral grey, or so… much too shiny..
Much appreciated, guys.
