Woohoo! I just hope my stash of cookies will last ’til then. 🙂

  • Thanks for the quick demo, Brian. I’m glad you didn’t leave the base as it was out of the box. After all the work you’ve put into the Hulk, it would have looked too plain. Really looking forward to seeing the […]

  • Another great show guys. Nice to see the VF-1A getting the love. Always loved the Robotech series from back in the day.

Hey, Scott, we’re not old dudes (Doctor Who and I are sharing the same birthday), we’re […]

  • It’s been a great photo review series. Hope to see many more.

  • Yay, T.T. is back! (T.T. withdrawals subside 🙂 )

I’m not much of a JoJoBA fan myself, but found the background information interesting. The Crazy Diamond figure itself has a great action pose and I can see […]

Hmmm. Misty (Alter) from Shining Blade?

  • Good start to the kit review. I always enjoy watching builds from start to finish, and the nice thing about photos is that they are great for showing detail and demonstrating comparisons (the panel line colour […]

That’s a nice looking kit, even if it is a sample. 🙂

Brian, what do you folks normally do with the sample kits you get? Do you have to return them at some point? If HLJ gets to keep them, can they be built? And if they can be built, how does the HLJ staff decide which staff member gets the lucky prize? Rock, paper, scissors? Coin flip?…[Read more]

    • Yeah, it’s pretty much the finalized tooling, just waiting on the final box and instructions.

We get to keep samples, and usually build them for blogs, our item pages, etc. The person who built it usually gets to keep it, but if it comes down to it, we arm wrestle . Which means I get the model. We also have display cases here in the office where…[Read more]

Sadly, no relation to that awesome snack. Main ingredients includes Rice Krispies, or in my case Crisp Rice, coconut, flour, sugars, and oatmeal. Still makes for a great combination. 🙂

I figured Ryan was pretty busy these days, what with his regular job, plus shooting/editing the videos, etc. That and being a new dad. 🙂 Anyway, will be looking forward to the next episode of T.T. when it comes out. Just finished off the last of the chocolate chip cookies. Sorry. Next batch I make, I think, will be something called Cracker…[Read more]

    • I make a pretty mean chocolate-chip cookie myself (although I have no real oven here, so I can’t really make ’em here, sigh). Cracker Jack cookies–? Any relation to the legendary “candy-coated popcorn, peanuts and a prize” snack? ‘Cause that would be an awesome, awesome cookie ingredient.

Just noticed the last episode of Toy Tengoku was way back in April. Ack! (Reaches for chocolate chip cookie to help alleviate his TT withdrawal symptoms.) 🙂

    • Because we don’t have TV’s Luke on staff any longer, TV’s Ryan has had to absorb all of Luke’s duties, and add them to his own already-full workload. As such, we’re kind of on a reduced shooting schedule–we don’t tape as often as we once did. In addition, the Shizuoka Hobby Show happened shortly after our most recent episode was taped, and Ryan…[Read more]

      • looking forward to it 🙂 the show, not a cookie

      • Yes, please @Robin… I need to have the next Toy Tengoku video soon! It’s been TWO long months! Tell @Ryan to get on it! LOL… Love the quirky way you and Ardith present the figures. I can tell the passion you girls have for these excellent figures… keep it up!

Ah. Interesting. At the point where it switched to the hobbylink.tv/blog and expanded into three columns across, I clicked on “Newest” at the bottom right corner and it included the most recent posts across all the categories. Exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, just really cumbersome to get to. I’d be happy if they had some way to…[Read more]

    • Yeah, Ryan seems to be reasonable. He has implemented changes I have requested before. Perhaps he will hear our plea!

True, but whereas the old grid was a single place that showed updates across multiple categories (Gunpla TV, Toy Tengoku, Boss Builds, etc), the new site requires having to click on each category individually to see if it has been updated. Plus, with the most-recent-post-at-the-top format of the new site’s home page, a lot of scrolling is…[Read more]

    • True. However I did find that if click on see more at the bottom it expands to show more posts, then if you click it again it takes you to hobbylink.tv/blog which I believe shows the latest posts across categories.

Perhaps they should make that a link somewhere more prominent.

  • Like everything new, it will take some getting used to the new version. I can see how it will be able to grow out the community(ies) with its flexibility. One thing I found is that there doesn’t seem to be a central place that shows what the most recent videos are, as there was with the old site’s front page grid. I find I’m having to do a heck…[Read more]
